REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 4, 1960
The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in a regular
session in the City Hall, 11330 Bu11is Road, on above
date at 7:3U~p.m.
Mayor Finch in the chair,
Councilmen Duncan, English, Finch, Pender and Rowe
answered trie roll call.
It 'was moved by Councilman Ponder, seconded by Councilman
~"'~ Rowe, that the minutes of the regular meeting of September 20,
1960 be approved as written. All members voting aye, the
Mayor declared the motion duly carried.

ORDINANCE NO. 709 entitled: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF Ord. 709
LYNWOOD ESTABLISHING REGULATIONS FOR MAKING EXCAVATIONS Excavation
AND PERFORMAI~TCE OF OTHER WORK IN PUBLIC STREETS IN SAID
CITY" was presented for the c~econd time. It was-moved by
Councilman Pender, seconded by Councilman Duncan, that
further. reading be waived. All. members voting aye, the
Mayor declared the motion duly carried,
It was moved by Councilman Pender, seconded by Councilman
English, that said ordinance be adopted as read for the
Second time, finally pass and be published as required by
law.

A resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL Personnel
OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AMENDING RESOLUTION N0. 2843, Rules amend-
PERSONNEL SYSTEM RULES AND REGULATIONS." was presented for ment. Res.
first reading. It was moved by Councilman Pender, seconded read first
by Councilman Rowe, that said resolution be accepted as time.

The Clerk presented a verified claim for damages filed by Damage claim
Robert McCray for injuries received as the result of an Filed-McCray
accident between claimant and a vehicle operated by an
employee of the City of Lynwood. The Clerk recommended
that said claim fo7° damages be referred to the City~s
insurance car~•ier for answer and disposition on behalf of
the City of Lynwood. It was moved by Councilman Rowe,
seconded by Councilman Duncan, that the Council concur in
the recommendation of the City Clerk in referring said
matter to the insurance carrier, All members voting aye,
the Mayor declared the motion duly carried.
The Clerk presented a letter from Homecraft Furniture Homecraft

10450 Long Beach Boulevard, requesting the Council to con- Furniture

The Clerk stated that the Council had granted a 60-day approved,
special permit to conduct the going-out-of-business sale,

that the original agreement was approved by the Council in
1953, and this extension is for a period of three years, at

removed by the Mayor of the City, with the concurrence of the

matter with Commissioner Yerger.
