Pacific Company for permit to construct a sp~.zr f,r'ack across
Alameda Star°eet near. Lynwood Road to service the National
Cylinder Gas Division of Chemetron Corporationo The Clerk
pre~,e~?ted a drawing of the proposed construction for the
Councils study, and stated that the City Attorney, Engineer
a:nd Clerk have reviewed the request and recommend its
approval and the adoption of the necessary resolutions

The Clear'k presented a communication from the Los Angeles
Metropolitan Transit Authority submitting for the Cou.ncilts
information and study their proposed legislative program
for the development of a rapid transit system, Mr. Ro 0.
C~~~ristenson, representing Metropolitan Transit Authority,
addressed the Council anal explained the legislative pro~-
gram would per°mit studies to be made in conjunction with
the various cities and interested parties and make possible
tFae ulti.rnate location of routes and stops withi:rl the pros
posed transit corridor, and also develop the most economical
meads of construction of the rapid transit systemo He also
stated that the complete program should be ready for sub
mission to the legislature and/or the people of the area

to include the class of Civil Engineering Draftsman and
that the Salary Resolution, 60-37, be amended to include
Civil Engineering Draftsman at Range 15, and to delete
from said resolution the classification of Assistant
Civil. Engineer at Range 2Z:~
Whereupon, it was moved by Mayor Finch, seconded by Coun-
cilman Pender, that the Council concur in the recommenda-
tions of the City Manager on said. personnel matters, All

RESOLUTION N0. 61-9 entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD AMENDING SECTION 2 OF RESOLUTION N0. 60-37, TO
PROVIDE FOR A SALARY RANGE OF RANGE 15 ($457-$5~t-7) FOR
THE CLASS OF C NIL ENGINEERING DRAFTSMAN AND TO DELETE
FROM SAID RESOLUTION THE CLASS OF ASSISTANT C NIL ENGINEER
AT RANGE 22 ($627-$752)." was presented, It was moved by
Councilman Rowe, seconded by Councilman Duncan, that said
resolution be adopted.

The Manager requested authorization to advertise for bids
for the construction of a masonry wall as per plan, on the
south and west sides of the comm~a.nity services building,
The Manager also presented a communication from S. F.
Krsnak, 3855 Platt Avenue, requesting that consideration
be given to placing a 12-foot double gate on the south
side of said wall to~phovid~°ingresd~ar~d egress to his
property. It was-moved by Councilman Pender, seconded by
Councilman Duncan, that the Council authorize advertising
fc.r° bids for a solid, uninterrupted wall as requested by
the City Manager.

The Manager presented for the Councils consideration an
itemized breakdown of Change Order No, 3 and an alternate
for the kitchen equipment in the community services build-
ing, which was held over from the last regular meeting.
The Manager recommended that the original proposal to use
stainless steel, standard production kitchen equipment be
approved at a price of $31,762.68, and. that a change order
be authorized replacing the kitchen equipment in the
original contract to insure responsibility and constant
supervision,
Following a discussion on deleting certain items and
cY~arges for installation, it was moved by Councilman Duncan,
seconded by Councilman English, that the bus carts (Item
No. 10) be eliminated, stainless steel materials used, and
Change Order No, 3 providing for the complete installation
of kitchen equipment be provided, thereby ad-ding as an
extra $30,712e28 to the contract with Etherton Construction
Company.
