Noes: None, Absent; None. i'he Clerk presented a report from the City Engineer Tnrherein he recommended the adoption of an ordinance establishing 35 mile per hour speed limit on Alameda, Atlantic, Century, and Imperial Highway. Wriereupon, an ordinance entitled; "AN ORDINANCE OF THE C:iTY OF LYNWOOD INCREASING THE SPEED LIMITS ON CERTAIN MAJOR PUBLIC STREETS ABOVE THE MINIMUM ESTABLISHED STATE SPEED LIMIT OF 25 MILES PER HOUR AS DEFINED IN THE VEHICLE CODE," was presented, It was moved by Councilman Duncan, seconded by Councilman Pender, that further reading be waived. St.Francis The Clerk presented. a communication from St. Francis Hospital Hosp.-ital of Lynwood Guild requesting permission to conduct a thrift Czuild thrift sale at 11422 Long Beach Boulevard, on March 1, 2 and 3, 1961. sale. All America The Clez-k presented a communication from the Lynwood Exchange City Awards Club requesting the Councils permission, with the participate competition, Lion of all civic and service organizations, to place the City of Lynwood in the All America City Awards competition in May of this year. Mr. Les Robertson, representing the Exchange Club, outlined the All America City program. Following discussion, it was moved by Mayor Finch, seconded by Councilman Pender, that the Council endorse and offer assistance to the Exchange Club in entering the City of Lynwood in the 1961 All America City awards competition.
