REGULAR. MEETING .MARCH 21, 1961
The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in a regular
session in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, on above date
at 7:30 p,m,
Mayor Finch in the chair.
Councilmen Duncan, English, Finch, Pender and Rowe answered

be approved as written. All members voting aye, the Mayor

RESOLUTION N0. 61-15 entitled: "RESOLUTION OF THE CITY
CGUIvCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD ALLOWING AND APPROVING THE
DEMANDS PRESENTED AND ORDERING WARRANTS DRAWN THEREFOR,"
was presented. It was moved by Councilman English,
seconded by Councilman Rowe, that said resolution be
adoptedo

Service Bldg furnishing 125 tables and 1,000 chairs for. the community
State service building. After discussion and review of the tables
Industries, bid on, it was .moved by Councilman Pender, seconded by
Tnc.awar°°ded Councilman English, that the Council purchase 125 banquet
contract f"or tables at 26.97 each from State Industries, Inc., Los
'tables. Angeles, in accordance with specifications and bid submitted.

The Clerk presented an application of C': W. Moore for a
special. perrriit to operate a secondhand furniture business
~~r_ 11.626 Atlantic avenue. The Clerk also presented the re-
port o~" the Chief of Police wherein he found no reason why
said permit should not be granted. The Clerk, as License
C~~~1lector-~ recommended granting said special permit.

Thy; ~Iarsager presented his report on the distribution of

Manager also presented the report from the City Attorney
ccnce.rning what legislation the Council could pass to
r~~g~ulat~ *;he distribution of handbills and other advertising
;x~af,~~rial. It was moved by Councilman Pender, seconded by
T~~~yor Finch, that the Council study said reports and that
any farther action be held in abeyance ~u.ntil the next
regular rneeting. All members voting aye, the Mayor
declared the motion duly carried.
The r~arrager presented a report on the City~s practice of
maintaining the Pacific Electric Railway property wherein
:die recommended that the City continue to maintain such
right of way as a general public interest project until
p:r°c~sent efforts for additional grade crossings and
beautification have been completed. After discussion, it
was moved by Councilman Duncan, seconded by Councilman
Pender, that said report be accepted and filed. All
members voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly
carried.

recess, the Mayor again called the meeting to orders
The Manager, on behalf of the City Engineer, requested
authorization to advertise for bids for the resurfacing of
Abbott Road between Century Boulevard and Washington Avenue,

St-~ T ~ Gasoline Tax funds . It was moved by Councilman
English, seconded by Councilman Pender, that the Council
