Councilmen Duncan, English, Finch, Pender and Rowe answered the roll. call. It was moved by Councilman Pender, seconded by Councilman ~' Duncan, that the minutes of the rE~gular meeting of March 21, 1961_, be approved as written. All members voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried, RESOL~:JTIO~V NO. 61-18 entitled: "RESOLUTION OF THE CITY 'vOuTNCIL GF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD ALLOWING AND APPROVING THE DEMANDS PRESENTED AND ORDEI~IIVTG WARRANTS DRAWN THEREFOR." was presented. It was m<<.wed by Councilman Pender, seconded by Councilman Engl~.sh, that f'urt}ier reading be vaaived. The Clerk recommended that said petition be referred to the City Engineer for investigation and ,-c port, It was moved by Councilman English, seconded by Courcil_rnan Duncan, that the Council concur in the recommendation of the City Clerk in referring said petition. Following the recess, the I~Ia~or again called the meeting to order. The Council reviewed the various chairs and discussed the merits of each chair with the representatives of Virco, Pacific Seating Cornpara.y, and State Industries . Following considerable discussion regarding the chaffs spF:cifi- cations and .bids submitted, it was moved by Mayor Finch, seconded by Councilman Rowe, that the Council purchase 1,000 steel folding chairs at $3.~4 each from Pacific Seating Company, i.n accordance with the bid submitted. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Finch and Rowe. Noes: Councilmen Duncan, English and Fender. Absent: None. Community The Manager presented for the Councilts approval Change Order ~,,, Service Bldg No, 4 on the Community Service Building contract, to provide Change Order for construction support of a folding door in the small meet- #4 approvedo ing room., at an extra cost of $187.00. The Manager stated that the folding door will be purchased and installed separately and nat be a part of the contract. 'L'hcrv} was considerable discussion regarding the multiple unit development constructed by Los Angeles Commercial Enterprises, Inc, with no action taken. ThE=: Manager presented for the Councilis approval an amend- rr~ent; to the agreement between the City and the Los Angeles ~~lc~od Contraol District for tl~ie c~o~ering of the storm drain channc=l in Lugo Park. The Manager stated that the amend- rnent; changes only the method arrived at in determining the C.ity~s share of the cost, and that the original. cost of 22,01.6°58 as previously agreed upon, will apply in this ~a r~:endmen t . 1'; was the Engineeris recommendation that the Council approve said amendm~t to the present agreement with the Los Angeles County Flood Control District for the covering of t;hF~ portion of Line"E" within Lugo Park. ... Mona and i3oulevar{do The Manager presented the Engineers report on Imperial. y said agr°eement which provides that the City shall pay- a proportionate share of the energy and maintenance cost of this installation, which would be one-eighth of tr,e total or a.~;pro:xiYnately X50 per year.
