SPECIAL MEETING SEPTEMBER 11, 1961
The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in a special
session in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, on above date
at 4 p.m.
Mayor Pender in the chair.
Councilmen Duncan, Ham, Pender and Rowe answered the roll
Call.
Councilman Finch was absent.

The Clerl~ presented the official notices for conducting
the meeting, signed by all members of the Council. _
Tovatt The Mayor stated the purpose of the meeting was to discuss
Truck complaints concerning the operation of Tovatt Truck Terminal
Terminal at 3002 Century Boulevard, with Terminal management and
discussion. neighboring residents.
The Manager outlined and reviewed the past complaints and
the progress made to date in eliminating the nuisances
resulting from the operation of the truck terminal.
Councilman Finch arrived.
Mr. Tovatt presented the plot plan of the area and outlined
his proposed improvements.
The Council discussed with Mr. Tovatt and members of the
audience individual complaints. As a result of the discussion,
it was agreed that efforts will be made to do the following:
1. Relocate refrigeration trucks to the southwest corner of
the terminal, away from the residential area.
2. Keep the terminal in a clean and sanitary condition and
post appropriate signs.
3. Repair existing fence on the east side and place a
buffer barrier 10 feet inside the existing fence.
4. Restrict the use of the public address system to the
hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
At the suggestion of Councilman Duncan, it was agreed that
members of the Council would make personal inspection of the
terminal.
It was moved by Councilman Duncan, seconded by Councilman
Finch, that the meeting be adjourned. All members voting
aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried.
