HomeMy Public PortalAboutM 1961-10-13 - CC39~ SPECIAL MEETING OCTOBER 13, 1961 The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in a special session in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, on above date at 4 p.m. Mayor Pender in the chair. Councilmen Duncan, Ham, Finch, Pender and Rowe answered the roll call. The Mayor stated the purpose of the meeting to be: to review the rental fees applicable to the Community Service Building as previously recommended by the Recreation Commission and approved by the City Council on May 16, 1961. The Manager presented his and the Recreation Directors report on amendment of the rental fees charged for the use of the Community Service Building wherein they recommended that an alternate to Rule XI of the fee schedule be estab- lished. After considerable discussion regardcng use of the facilities at reduced and exempt fees, it was moved by Councilman Finch, seconded by Councilman Pender, that Rule XI be amended to read: "The Recreation Commission may grant, upon written applica- tion, the minimum charge provided in these rules to those groups which are representative of four or more non-profit organizations in the City of Lynwood. Applications for such reduction in the fee schedule must be made, in writing, to the Recreation Director at least one day prior to the Recreation Commissions regular meeting date." Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Duncan, Ham, Finch, Pender and Rowe. Noes: None. Absent: None. Recreation Facilities - Fee schedule Rule XI Amended. The Manager further recommended that Rule II, Section A-4, Rule II, be repealed inasmuch as the City Attorney has ruled that Section A-4, this is an unconstitutional provision. It was moved by repealed. Councilman Finch, seconded by Councilman Pender, that Rule II, Section A-4, be repealed. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Finch, Pender and Rowe. Noes: Councilmen Duncan and Ham. Absent: None. It was moved by Councilman Finch, seconded by Councilman Duncan, that the meeting be adjourned.
