C, Farnsworth, letter com- 5353 Fernwood Avenue, commenting on the efficiency of the mending Lynwood Police Department, It was moved by Councilman Finch, Pols_ce Dept, seconded by Councilman Rowe, that said communication be accepted and filed, All members voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried. It was moved by Councilman Ham, seconded by Councilman Finch, that said resignation be accepted. and that the Council consider the appointment of a new member to said Commission. All members voting aye, the Mayor declared. the motion duly carried. The Clerk presented a communication from Charles F. Storms, 3535 Josephine Street, offering to serve on the City Recreation Commission. It was moved by Councilman Hams seconded by Councilman Rowe, that said communication ~7e accepted and filed, All members voting ayes the Mayor declared the motion duly carried. The Clerk presented a communication .from Mrs. Milton R, Sims, 3955 Platt Avenue, recommending the appo~Lntment of Mr. Frank Heckle as a member of the Recreation Commission. :it was moved by Councilman Ham, seconded by Councilman Rowe, that said communication be accepted and filed, All m~e~mbers voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried, Councilman Duncan nominated 'Thomas R. Bancroft, The Mayor inquired if there were any further nominations, There being none, it was moved by Councilman Finch, seconded by Councilman Funcan, that the Council appoint R~'!r. Thomas R, Bancroft as a member of the Public Park and L~ec:~~eation Commission, to fill the unexpired term left by !she resignation of Mr. Peter Hulem, All members voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried. The Clerk presented a communication from the Ruhe Brothers Lynwood Baby Zoo requesting the City to waive the payment of the remaining balance of $473,90 for the original ~,_ improvements constructed by the City at the zoo site. After considerable discussion;, of the terms of the agree- m~ent and considerations subsequently granted Ruhe Brothers, it was moved by Councilman Duncan, seconded by Councilman Finch, that the Council deny Ruhe Brotherst request for waiver of the unpaid balance due for improvements made by the City at said site, Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Duncan, Finch, Ham, Pender, Rowe. Noes: None. Absent: None, The Clerk presented a communication from Mr, John W. Beaudoin, 3665 Agnes Avenue, questioning an administrative action of the Chief of Police. It was moved by Councilman Pender, seconded by Councilman Rowe, that said communica- tion be accepted' and filed. All members voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried, The Clerk presented a ~®~~.rt~~-om the City Engineer wherein he recommended that two sewer easements on Check Avenue be accepted. in order that the City can proceed with the construction o.~.~sanitary sewers in said street. Whereupon, the Clerk presented a Letter from Casmir ~, Crlandoand Rosalia M. Orlando granting to the City of Lynwood an easement for the maintenance and construction of sanitary sewers in Check Avenge, a private street., fronting the prt5perty, the address of which is 1156- Check Aver?ule, for the frontage aitiounting to approximately 150 feet, portion of Let 5, 3lausson Tract, as per map Hulem resig- nation from Recreation Commission. McCloud for a~pe;ial a special permit to operate a auto wrecking business at ~jer°mr.t 5549 Cortland Avenue. The Clerk stated that the Police granted, Department had completed its investigation and found. no reason why said permit should not be granted, and the Building Department had issued. the necessary certificate of occupancy, and as License Collector, recommended grand;ing of s=.~id special permit. Whereupon, it was moved by Councilman Finch, seconded by Councilman Duncan, that the Council concur in the recommenda- tions of the License Collector and grant said special permit. The Attorney outlined the various provisions of the proposed ordinance, Following-;discussion among the Counc~~,'t~he Attorney, and members o~° the audience, the Mayor directed that the matter be held over until the next regular meeting to allow the Council a better opportunity to study the provisions of said proposed ordinance. The Mayor inquired if there were any oral commun3.caf,ion.s. Gosper re Mr, Alex Gosper, 11257 Elm Street, inquired as to the status handbill of the proposed handbill ordinance. The Mayor informed Mr. ordinance. Gosper that the City Attorney had prepared a questionnaire for the Council to answer prior to preparing such a proposed ordinance.
