Councilmen Duncan, Finch, Haan, McMillan and Rowe an>?veered the roll. call. ~--- The Clerk presented. a communication from the Axr~~~ri.can War ' Mothers, Southeast Chapter No. 75, requesting ~~~:rar~:ir~si.on to sell "Mothers Day" paper carnations in`~the city on May 10, 11 and 12, 1962. It was moved. by Counc~~lman. Rowe, seconded by Councilman Ham, that said per_rr~.~~sion be granted. All members voting aye, the Mayor dec.lUr~~d the motion duly carried, The Mayor stated that at this time the Counc~i=L ,RTC,~~:Td again consider the request of the Personnel Board of A~~ri~ 26 to appeal the Writ of Administrative Mandamus f:randed down by the Superior Court in the Mervil B. Miller caa~c, At the request of the Council, the Manager sur~,-_r~a~~~.zed the May 10, 1962, meeting of the Personnel Board. Alpo at the request of the Council, the Clerk read th~~ m~.nut..es of the May 9 special meeting of the Personnel Board. After considerable discussion of the request of t;t~~~; Personnel Board, it was moved by Councilman McMillan, seconded by Councilman Duncan, that the .Council deny the request of the Personnel Board to authorize the City Attorney to appeal the Writ of Administrative Mandamus handed down by the Superior Court in the Mervil ~?~ M:~ller case, '""- Roll Call; Ayes; Councilmen Duncan, Finch, Ham, McMillan and Rowe. Noes; None, Absent; None. The Mayor stated that the Council should consider the necessary appointments to the Personnel Board. as the terms of members Reggiardo and Felker expire on May 15, 1962. Councilman McMillan nominated Mr. Reggiardo for re~ appointment to the Personnel Board for a term of four years, Following discussion on the advisability of making such appointments at this time, it was moved by Counc:f.lman Fincht seconded by Councilman Ham, that further noz~i.na~ tions and appointments be held in abeyance until thr~ regular meeting of May 15, 1962. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Duncan, Finch, Ham, McMillan and Rowe. Noes: None. Absent; None, The Mayor inquired it there were any oral commun:~.cati_ons. There was no response.
