^~^• .~i~a~~, addressed the Council and stated that the Commission
h,~d ~,tud.ied the plan at length prior to conducting two
public hearings and approving the plan with the r.ecom-
m~~~ndatior. that it be adopted. by the City Council.
fv(r~ H~-~?^ry Wall, representing Charles B. Bennett and
A~~soc:~~,t~.,>>, planning consultants employed by the city to
r~r~~pare the General or Master Plan, addressed the Council
=~n.d braced the background of the planning study which
r~=;~~zlted in the Master Plan, and. described in detail the
planning elements which comprise the plan, emphasizing
the=~f: thE~ Genf=ral or Master Plan is a guide to the city s
fy..~.ture growth and development. Mr. Wall further stated
tr~.at; th" detailed report which will be submitted to the
:~_~ ty f"ollow.i.ng adoption of the Master Plan will contain
~-T?~-~.r ~Z;gg,estions and r. ecommendations for implementing
the x?la:~.
'I'he~rF: followed a general discussion among the members of
the Council and. the consultants concerning the general
p?_an, particularly with reference to the protection of
established single family ta.ses.
