Councilmen Duncan, Finch, Ham, McMillan and Rowe answered the roll call, It was moved by Councilman .Finch, seconded by Councilman McMillan, that the minutes of the previous regular meeting of December 4, 1952, be .approved as written, All members voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried. Res, 62-87 RESOLUTION N0. 62-87 entitled: "RESOLUTION OF THE CITY Demands COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD ALLOWING AND APPROVING THE DEMANDS PRESENTED AND ORDERING WARRANTS DRAWN THEREFOR." was presented, It was moved by Councilman McMillan, seconded by Councilman ,Finch, that said resolution be adopted. Absent: None,- Hearing - The hour of 7:30 p.m. having arrived, said hour being the Atlantic Ave.time fixed for hearing on the proposed "Atlantic Avenue Annexation Annexation No, 2," the Clerk presented his affidavits of #2 publication and mailing of notices, as required by law, and stated that no written or oral protests have been filed in objection to said proposed annexation, The Mayor inquired if there were any present in the audience wishing to be heard on said proposed annexation, Mr. Joseph Metro, 4297 Lavinia, Mr. Arvid O. Toso, 12030 Third Avenue, Mr. Fry, 12039 Third Avenue, and Mr. Harold Ellis, '' 4208 Lavinia, all residents outside of the area proposed to be annexed, asked if the area is to be zoned for multiple units, They were informed that the City Planning Commission, after the area is annexed, would conduct public hearings on the establi hment of zone in the annexed areas; that the present hearing is for the matter of annexation, and not for zoning. There being no protests from any of the property owners in the area proposed to be annexed, it was moved by Councilman .,.~, Duncan, seconded by Councilman .Finch, that the hearing he concluded. ..All members voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried. Absent: None, Ord , No < 742 Approving Atlantic Ave Annexation # Hearing - Fernwood Ave Annexation # Ress 6z-89 Fernwood Ave Annexation.#: Overruling Protests, ~, Ord, No. 743 Approving Fernwood Ave. Annexation #] The hour of 7:30 p.m, having arrived, said hour being the Hearing - time fixed for the hearing on the proposed improvement of Cortland et Cortland Street, Louise Avenue and Check Avenue, all east al Sewer of Wright Road, by the construction of sanitary sewers, Improvement the Clerk presented his affidavit of mailin$`notices of iio said public hearing, and presented a letter from Mr, John Van 0©sting, 5533-~9 Gortland Street, objecting to the excessive cost of the proposed improvement. Mr, Van Oosting addressed the Council and r°equested that the city share with the property owners the expenses of said improvement by the city paying the cost of the pumping plant station and the property owners paying the cost of the lines, The City Engineer stated that the estimate for the pump station is 6,500 and that the total cost of the improvement is estimated at $19,800. He further stated that he would estimate that 50~ of the property owners would. connect to the sewers upon their completion, Mr, John Trevine, 55.04 Cc~rt_land, addressed the Coia.ncil and stated that the assessment is an Excessive burden upon the property owners in the area. Mr. Harvey. G, March, 1165' Louise Avenue objected to the proposed improvement due to excessive cost. Mr, James C.
