The City Council cf the City of L~.~nw~~~od met in a regular
session in the City Hall, 11330 n°"11is Rcad, on above date
at 7e30 p.m.
Mayor Ham in the chair,
Councilmen Duncan, Finch, Ham, I`~cMillari and Rowe answered the
roll call.
It was moved by Councilman Finch, seconded by Councilman
Duncan, that the minutes of the previous rega.lar meeting of
July 16, 1863, be approved as written. A1.1 members vot.irig
aye, the Mayor declared the mot-ion duly carried.

The Clerk presented a report from the Los Angeles County Jail report
Health Department concerning their annual. inspection of the
Lynwood jail facilities wherein they called to the Cou.ncilts
attention certain housekeeping deficiencies and recommended
changes in the maintenance o.f the ~ityTS jail facilities,
The Manager presented his report concerning action taken to
~„ r°emedy such conditions.
It was moved by Councilman Rowe, seconded by Councilman
McMillan, that said inspection report be accepted and filed,
All memberrs voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly
carried,
The Clerk presented a commu.nicatien from the Camp Fire Girls
of Washington School requesting permission to sell Christmas
and all-occasion cards, during the :months of August and
Septemder, 1y63. It was moved b„~ Councilman Duncan, seconded
by Councilman Rowe, -that said permission be granted. All
members present voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion
duly carried.

The Clerk presented a cemmunicatiorx frbom L. C. Browning, Browning -
lz`~~z6 Santa Fe Avenue, complaining of a neighborhood nuisance com
nuisance and zoning violations at 3108 El Segundo Boulevard,plaint.
It vlas moved by Councilman Finch, seconded by Councilman
McMillan, that said complaints be r°eferred to the Building
Inspector ar_d Chief of Police for investigation snd report.
All members voting aye, the Mayer declared the motion duly
carried.
The Clerk presented a communication from. the Citizents Commendation
Assistance Relay League commendir:g the Council for the
valuable assistance and co-operation rendered at the from Citizen
Assistance
Citizengs Band Jamboree. Tt was moved by Councilman Ro~nre, Relay League
seconded by Councilman Finch, that said cor:Amu.nicaticn be
accepted and filed. All members voting aye, the Mayor
declared the motion duly carried.

Employees Association requesting a review cf their salary requested
proposal at special meeting of the City ~c~rncil. After

1963. 7t was moved by Councilman Duncan, seconded by
Councilman McMillan, that said leave be granted as recom-
mended by the Mar.~ager. All mer:~bers voting aye, the Mayor
declared the motion carried.
Sale of sur- Tine Manager presented a re~:~ort on the parcel of surplus
plus pro- city property (Logs 11 and 12, Block 19, Modjeska Park},
perty - wherein he stated that -the co:rnplete title search showed
Lots 11,12, a 10t easement on the west ;;=ide of tt:e property, on which

that the purchaser in es-grow placed a ~j~G value on the
easement by offering ~~,250.G0 for said parcel which, in the
Managerds estimation, wars too great. He, therefore, suggested
that the Coa.ncil authorize pay~~r~en.t of the existing realtor
and esc~~ow fees and place the prop-erty on an open listing
for $6, OOO.OG. The City Attc::rriey .informed the Council that
the city is obligated to pay the realtorps commission and
escrow fees.

Home occupa- Following discussion of said subject, the Clerk was
