HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 10-09 Utility turn on off fee - SignedRESOLUTION NO. 10-9 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MCCALL, IDAHO, ADOPTING WATER TURN ON/OFF FEES; ESTABLISHING ADDITIONAL CHARGES FOR CLEARING SNOWIDEBRIS AND AFTER HOURS SERVICES; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have the authority to set fees by resolution; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have determined that such rates should cover the costs of labor and equipment charges; and WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held on February 11,2010 to hear public testimony for setting water turn on/off fees; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council desire to provide the best utility customer service possible at the most reasonable rates attainable and believe it is their duty to take the necessary actions to minimize losses and undue administrative costs caused by customers who turn services on or off at their discretion. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the City of McCall that: Section 1: The charge for turning off water to a service location that has been receiving water shall be $65. Section 2: Effective October 1, 2010, the charge for turning on water to a service location that has received service in the past shall be $65.00 Section 3: To avoid additional equipment and manpower charges, the water meter must be free from snow and/or debris. Charges will be assessed based on actual cost to free the meter from snow and/or debris. Section 4: For service performed after business hours an additional charge of$50 shall be assessed. Section 5: This resolution shall be in full force and effect upon passage and approval by the Mayor and Council of the City ofMcCall and shall remain in effect until further action by the Council.
