ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 22, 1964
The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in an adjourned
regular session in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, on above
date at 4 p.m.
Mayor McMillan in the chair.
Councilmen Duncan, Ham, McMillan, Siokos answered the roll
call.
The Clerk presented a request from the California Guild Candy sale
,,,..,.. for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Children, Compton Chapter, permit -
requesting permission to conduct a candy sale in the city Guild for Deg
from October 22 to November 2, 1964. It was moved by Children
Councilman Ham, seconded by Councilman Duncan, that per-
mission be granted. All members voting aye, the Mayor
declared the motion duly carried.
The Mayor stated that this was the time set for consider-
ing the appointment of a member of the City Council to
fill the unexpired term of Arnold E. Finch.
The Mayor adjourned. the meeting to an executive session Executive
for the purpose of discussing said appointment, session.
Following the executive session, the Mayor called. the
meeting back to order and stated that nominations would
now be accepted.
Whereupon, Councilman Siokos nominated. Mr. Guy Smith.
The Mayor inquired. if there were any further nominations.
There being none, it was moved by Councilman Ham,
seconded by Councilman Duncan, that nominations be closed.
The Mayor directed that a secret ballot be taken on the
s^^ nominee. The result of the ballots cast for Guy Smith was:
Yes: 4
No: 0
Whereupon, the Mayor declared that Mr. Guy Smith was duly Guy Smith
appointed as a member of the City Council to fill the appointed to
unexpired term resulting from the resignation of Arnold E. City Council
Finch.
It was moved by Councilman Duncan, seconded by Councilman
Ham, that the meeting be adjourned. All members voting
aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried.
