The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in a regular session in the City Ha 1, 11330 Bullis Road, on above date at 7:30 p.m. Mayor McMillan in the chair. Councilmen Duncan, Ham, McMillan, Siokos and Smith answered the roll call. It was moved by Councilman Duncan, seconded by Councilman Siokos, that the minutes of the previous meeting of March 16, 1865, be approved as written. .All members voting aye, the Mayor declared the .motion carried. 3es. 65-25 RESOLUTION N0. 65-25 entitled: Demands COUNCIL OF .THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DEMANDS PRESENTED AND ORDERING was presented.. Communica- Two letters from Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 86 tion from were present-e d, the first requesting permission to use the D.A.V. re- city property at Louise and Wright Road for the purpose of garding holding a circus on May 15; the second requesting that the sponsoring license fee b.e waived. The second letter contained estimated circus income to the_Di~abled American Veterans and to.DeWayne:_Bros., the circus :company being sponsored by the Disabled American Veterans. D.A.V. Discussion--The provisions of Section 20.36 of the city code were waiving explained as to the waiver of the_lcense fee,, and the license fee Manager recommended that a deposit be required inasmuch as the percentage of profit is not_known at this. time, and a waiver of a specific portion of the fee, as provided in Section 2.0.36, cannot now be granted. It was moved by Councilman Duncan, seconded by Councilman Smith, that..a depos it of $50 be required to .insure _payment of the license fee when it can be determined from the gross receipts.. Boy Scout A letter from .Boy Scout Troop 437 containing two requests was projects presented.....The first, request for permission to conduct a door discussed to-door distribution of post cards advertising a shopping center from April 5 - 10; the second,. distribution of the southeast residential ,directory to all .the homes .in Lynwood, beginning April 10 and concluding during the week-of Faster vacation. The Manager presented a report containing the result of 8 Cgin,~net.e.r survey of.l.icense fees :for eoi.n operated washing and drying washer machines. The report stated that the License_Collectorhas license f-ee surveyed eight cities-in the_mmediate-area to compare the discussion equity of the fee presently _charged in Lynwood. It was the License Collector's belief that the present-fee is excessive and should be reduced to $2.OD.per machine with no maximum. The Manager: stated.. that he_concurredin the_reeommend>aton of the Lic.en.se ~ol3ector and suggaste.d th-at the Council. authorize the City Attorney to prepare- an amendatory ordinance reducing the fee for coin operated washing machines to $2.00 regardless of where located, and elirni:nating the. maximum charge. provisions .completely. (4) Planning_Director and_Secretary to the Planning _Cammi Sion. The .report stated .that these added duties cannot be delegated as there is no qualified person to whom they can be assigned.
