CALL TO ORDER
The Regular Council Meeting convened on April 20, 1998, at 7:30 PM by Mayor Duane
Schreimann.
Prayer was offered by Councilman Charles Jackson, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
ROLL CALL
The following Council Members were present for roll call:
Present: Byrd, Haake, Jackson, Jaynes, Landwehr, McDowell, Nelson, Nilges,
Stella and Vincent
Absent: None
A quorum was declared present.
CONSENT AGENDA
The following items were present for approval on the Consent Agenda:
a. Minutes of April 6, 1998, Regular City Council Meeting
A motion was made by Councilman Bill Byrd for approval of the Consent Agenda as
presented, seconded by Councilman Charles Jackson and approved unanimously.
MAYORAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Mayor Duane Schreimann presented a plaque containing the key to the city to outgoing
Councilman Bill Byrd for his years of service to the City as a City Councilman, and conveyed
to Mr. Byrd on behalf of the City Council best wishes for his retirement.

19 -401, (STREETS AND HIGHWAYS), SCHEDULE (I), (ANGLE PARKING), OF THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON BY THE ADDITION OF A NEW SUBPARAGRAPH
(4), PERTAINING TO A PORTION OF MADISON STREET.
Councilman Carolyn McDowell requested that Bill 97 -153 remain on the Informal Calendar
where it dies at this time.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
There was no Unfinished Business to come before the Council at this time.
COUNCIL LIAISON REPORTS
Councilman Carl Jaynes announced that the TCI audit had been distributed to Council
Members in their last Council packet, and stated that anyone had questions, please let him
know and he would try to find the answers for them.
Councilman Larry Vincent made an announcement regarding the annual Spring Cleanup.
The dates are as follow: East side of town, Monday, April 27 and west side of town,
Monday, May 4.

Executive Session of April 6, 1998 — A motion was made by Councilman Carl Jaynes for
approval, seconded by Councilman Charles Jackson and approved unanimously.

ADJOURN SINE DIE
A motion was made by Councilman Carolyn McDowell that the 1997 Council adjourn Sine
Die, seconded by Councilman James Haake and approved unanimously at 7:45 P.M.
ADMINISTRATION OF OATHS OF OFFICE
Mayor Duane Schreimann announced that newly - elected Fifth Ward Councilman Carol
Blaney was on vacation and would not be able to attend the swearing -in ceremony and
following City Council meeting. The Honorable Tom Sodergren, Associate Judge of the 19th
Judicial Circuit, administered the Oath of Office to the following City Officials elected in the
City of Jefferson on April 7, 1998:
John Landwehr, First Ward Councilman
Steve Nelson, Second Ward Councilman
Carl Jaynes, Third Ward Councilman
Len Stella, Third Ward Councilman (1 -year unexpired term)
Rick Nilges, Fourth Ward Councilman
Following the ceremony, the newly - elected Council Members were seated for the 1998
Council.
