HomeMy Public PortalAboutM 1965-06-28 - CC~) J ~_ The City Council of session in the City at 5:00 p.m. Mayor Siokos in the Councilmen Duncan, Councilman McMillan SPECIAL MEETING JUNE 28, 1965 the City of Lynwood met in a special Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, on above date chair. 3iokos, and Smith answered the roll call, was absent. The Mayor announced the purpose of the special meeting to be the consideration of certain special permits, and asked the City Clerk to present the applications on file, as follows: 1. From Mr. George Williams, requesting a change of address Firework from Cherokee and Long Beach Boulevard to 5162 Imperial permits Highway, for the fireworks stand permit granted to granted tc Y.M.C.A. Indian Guides at the June 15, 1965, Council Y.M.C.A., meeting. It was moved by Councilman Smith, seconded by Lynwood Councilman Duncan, that the request be granted. All Swim Club, members present voting aye, the Mayor declared the & Glennon motion carried. Club 2. From the Lynwood Swim Club requesting a special permit and license fee exemption to operate a fireworks stand at Cherokee and Long Beach Boulevard. It was moved by Councilman Duncan, seconded by Councilman Smith, that the permit be granted, license free, subject to compliance with the regulations governing the sale of safe and sane fireworks within the City. All members present voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion carried. 3. From the Glennon Club, Knights of Columbus, for a special permit and exemption from the business license fee to operate two fireworks stands, one at 3889 Imperial Highway and one at 2971 Imperial Highway. It was moved by Councilman Duncan, seconded by Councilman Smith, that said special permit and license fee exemption be granted, subject to compliance with the regulations governing the sale of safe and sane fire- works within the City. All members present voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion carried. It was moved by Councilman Smith, seconded by Councilman Duncan, that the meeting be adjourned.
