ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 4, 1966
The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in an adjourned
regular session in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, on
above date at 4 p.m.
Mayor Smith in the chair.
Councilmen Byork, Duncan, Siokos, Smith and Stevens
answered the roll call.
Holiday The Committee appointed by Mayor Smith to meet with the
decorating Downtown Business and Professional Association (Councilmen
fund Duncan and Siokos) and Chamber of Commerce representatives,
request - reported on their meeting as follows:
Committee The group met and discussed the problem of financial
report, assistance to decorate the Long Beach Boulevard business
area f.or the holiday aeason. It was felt by the Committee
that the meeting was very productive in clarifying mutual
problems of the Chamber and the Association, and although the
Chamber appears eager to co-operate, the representatives
could make no commitment to the Association until the
Chamber Board of Directors meets on Tuesday, November 8.
Mr. Fuhrman was present and stated that the Associations
position remains the same as discussed at the Council meeting
of November 1; however, an extension of time has been obtained
from the decorating company for a decision on the amount of
decorations the Association will agree to take (until
November 8).
Mr. James Ellerman spoke on behalf of the Association to
thank the Council for the joint Committee meeting, the
adjourned Council meeting, and the Councilts interest in
carrying on the decoration of Long Beach Boulevard.
After an informal discussion of future holiday decorating
activities, it was moved by Councilman Duncan, seconded
by Councilman Stevens, that the meeting be adjourned. All
members voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion carried.
