CALL TO ORDER
A Special Council Meeting was called to order on August 30, 1996, 5:30 P.M. with President
Pro Tempore Carolyn McDowell presiding
ROLL CALL
The following Council Members were present for roll call:
Present: Byrd, Haake, Jaynes, Kammerdiener, Landwehr, McDowell, Nelson, Nilges
Absent: Jackson and Vincent
Mayor Duane Schreimann
A quorum was declared present
INTRODUCTION OF BILLS
Bill 96 -77, sponsored by Councilman Nilges, entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, PROVIDING FOR THE
LEVY OF CITY TAXES AND ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF TAXATION FORTHECITYOF
JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, FOR THE YEAR 1996.
Councilman Nilges moved that a substitute bill be accepted, reflecting a tax rate levy of 52
cents instead of 54 cents, motion was seconded by Councilman Nelson, and approved
unanimously. Councilman Nilges then requested that the rules be suspended and Bill 96 -77
placed on final passage. There were no objections to the request for suspension of the
rules. Bill 96 -77, as substitute, was then read second and third times by title, placed on final
passage, and passed by the following roll -call vote as Ordinance 12513:
Aye: Byrd, Haake, Jaynes, Kammerdiener, Landwehr, McDowell, Nelson and
Nilges
Nay: None
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Council at this time, Councilman Nilges
moved that the meeting be adjourned, motion was seconded by Councilman
Kammerdiener, and approved unanimously. Meeting was adjourned at 5:40 P.M.
