ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING MAY 27, 1968
The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in an adjourned
regular session in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, on
above date at 7 p.m.
Mayor Siokos in the chair.
Councilmen Byork, Green, Siokos, Smith, Stevens answered
the roll call.
Report on The Mayor announced that the regular meeting of May 21,
Economic 1968, had been adjourned in order to discuss with Dr,
Survey Tom Ashley, of Economics Research Associates, the
final report on the economic analysis of the city's
growth potential. Members of the Planning Commission
were present and were urged by Mayor Siokos to make
any comments or ask any questions about items contained
in the report of particular interest to them.
The report, copies of which had previously been provided
for the Council's study, covered the following broad
subjects: economic characteristics of Lynwood, commercial
potential and industrial potential. Dr. Ashley discussed
in detail specific subjects contained in these broad
categories, with emphasis on commercial and industrial
development, analysis of existing conditions, alternative
courses of action and methods of land assembly and
financing of development. (For details of "Economic
Analysis of Lynwood Growth Potential," reference is
made to copy on file in the office of the City Clerk).
Methods of proceeding to develop the potential of the
city and implementation of recommendations were discussed
informally among members of the Council, Dr. Ashley,
the City Manager, members of the Planning Commission,
and others present in the audience.
It was moved by Councilman Byork, seconded by Council-
man Green, and carried, that the Economic Analysis of
Lynwood Growth Potential prepared for the City of
Lynwood by Economics Research Associates be accepted.
It was moved by Councilman Smith, seconded by Council-
man Green, and carried, that the meeting be adjourned.
