ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 17, 1968
The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in an adjourned
regular session in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, on
above date at 6:30 p.m.
Mayor Siokos in the chair.
Councilmen Byork, Green, Siokos, Smith, Stevens answered
the doll call.
RESOLUTION N0. 68-62 entitled: "RESOLUTION OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD SUPPORTING ACTION OF THE
LYNWOOD UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT AUTHORITIES IN THEIR
ACTION CONCERNING USE OF NARCOTICS." was presented. It
was moved by Councilman Byork, seconded by Councilman
Green, and carried, that said resolution be adopted.
The request of the Southern California Conference of
Seventh-day Adventists for a permit for the Pathfinder
Club to hold a parade on October 20 from 1 p.m, to
approximately 1:x+5 p.m. was presented. The route of
the parade would be from the Imperial Highway entrance
of the academy, east to Pine, south on Pine to Los
Flores, west on Los Flores to Harris and then to the
church grounds. The letter stated the parade had been
cleared with the Chief of Police. It was moved by
Councilman Stevens, seconded by Councilman Green, and
carried, the permission be granted.
The request for rehearing on the Century Freeway route,
as it affects the City of Lynwood, to be presented at the
meeting of the State Highway Commission in Bakersfield on
October 21, was outlined by Mayor Siokos. The presentation
was discussed informally among members of the City Council
and interested citizens who were present. Travel
arrangements to Bakersfield were also discussed, with
some expressing a desire to travel to Bakersfield on the
evening preceding the meeting. It was moved by Councilman
Byork, seconded by Councilman Smith, and carried, that
the City pay the room rental for those ad hoc committee
members who wished to spend the night preceding the
meeting in Bakersfield.
It was mooed by Councilman Green, seconded by Councilman
Smith, end carried, that the meeting be adjourned.
