SPECIAL MEETING JULY 17, 1970
The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in a special
session in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, on above
date at 6 p.m.
Mayor Green in the chair.
Councilman Green, Liewer, Siokos and Stevens answered
the roll call. Councilman Byork was absent.
The Mayor announced that the purpose of the meeting was
to adopt a budget and salary resolution for the fiscal
year 1970-71.
Res. 70-46 The Manager presented a resume of the message contained in
Salary reso. the proposed budget and explained that the budget is
1970-71 complete as to line items and capital expenditures, but
does not reflect the 1970-71 firefighters scale as the
city is still in negotiation with the Firefighters Associa-
tion. He also prese::,~ted RESOLUTION N0. 70-46 entitled:
Budget for A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
1970-71 SETTING FORTH THE SALARIES BY CLASSIFICATION OF ITS OFFICERS
adopted AND EMPLOYEES, AND OTHER BENEFITS. It was moved by
Councilman Siokos, seconded by Councilman Liewer, that
the 1970-71 fiscal budget and salary resolution be adopted.
Mr. Bill Bean, representing the Police Officers Association
of Lynwood, addressed the Council to request that the salary
resolution not be enacted with reference to those members
that he represents, patrolmen, sergeants and lieutenants,
and stated that it is the Association's position that the
impasse procedure is not complete and the Association
requests that an outside mediator be called in to solve
the impasse between the Association and the City.
Roll Call:
Ayes: Councilmen Green, Liewer, Siokos, Stevens.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Byork.
It was moved by Councilman Liewer, seconded by Councilman
Stevens, and carried, that the meeting be adjourned.
