The Public Works Director was questioned about the acquisition of right of way and he informed the Council that the County has indicated they are now in the process of completing their appraisal report. The matter will then go to the land management division to begin negotiations for acquisition of the property on the west side of Long Beach Boulevard. Following informal discussion of the project generally among members of the Council, the developers, and members of the Planning Commission present, the Mayor requested Mr. Wright to urge early action on the part of the County in their land acquisition activities, and the Council was assured that they would do so and that the city would proceed with the necessary engineering and continue to meet with Mr. Oliver.
