Courleilman Stevens asked that a.c~:ion opposing giving
of Federal funds to Hanoi be considered
Coun~.ilman Rowe asked that a feasibility study be
made of the cities carrying o~~t its own rubbish

It was moved by Councilman Stevens, seconded by
Councilman Liewer, and carried, that the minutes of
the adjozxrned regular meeting of February 20, 1973,.

Report from Human Regret;end Ernest Angell, representing the Human Relations
Relations Committee Committee, presented a report on the actions of the
;mmittee to date, acid referred specifically to
the :ommittee's request that the City Council and
Sr;I~oo1 Board establish priorities and a program
that would be meaningful to the youth off' the
rorrmunity that are gang orientedo He also said

L,ras moved by Councilman Liewer, seconded by Council-
man Stevens, that the Mayor be authorized to
execute a contract with Owen Menard and Associates
as outlined in the study at a cost not to exceed
$11,000.

Upon recommendation of the City Manager, it was Asphalt paving material
moved by Councilman Liewer, seconded by Councilman bid call 3/27 at
Rowe, that the Council approve specifications.. for 10:00 a.m.
asphalt paving material and authorize a call for
bids for furnishing such material, bids to be
received no later than 10:00 a.m. on March 27,
1g73~ All members present voting aye, the Mayor
declared the motion carried.
A report on the action taken by the Xerox Corporation Res. 73-17
for recovery of property taxes was .presented with County Counsel Action
fhe City Manager's recommendation that RESOLUTION regarding property
N0. 73-17 entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY tax protests and
GOi1NCIL OF THE.CITY OF.LYNWOOD PROVIDING FOR THE defense
DEFENSE BY COUNTY COUNSEL. OF ACTIONS BROUGHT
AGAINST THE CITY FOR REFUND OF .PROPERTY TAXES
OR RECOVERY OF PROPERTY TAXES. PAID UNDER PROTEST,"
be adopted. It was moved by Councilman Stevens,
seconded by Councilman Rowe,. and carried, that
Resolution No. 73-17 be adopted.
A report on modification of traffic signals and Signal. modification -
"'" lighting at Long Beach .Boulevard. and Cedar and L. B. Blvd. At Cedar
Burton. Avenues was presented with recommendation and Burton
that the Council approve the plans and specifications
for signal modification and safety lighting-Gas Tax
Proeject No. 183, and authorize a call for bids to
be received on March 29 at 10:00 a.m.
It was moved by Councilman Byork, seconded by
Councilman Stevens, and .carried, that the Council concur
in the Manager"s recommendation and authorize the
call for bids.
A report on the proposed construction. of concrete Concrete cross gutter
cross-gutters at various locations (Gas Tax Project const. G.T. Prod. 182
No ~ 1..82 ) was presented by the City Manager with bid call 3/28/73 at
the recommendation that the Council approve the 10:00 a.m.
plans and specifications for concrete cross-gutter
construction, Gas Tax Project No. 182, and authorize
a call for bids at 10:00 a.m~ on March 28, 1973•
