HomeMy Public PortalAboutM 1973-06-25 - CC24j ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING JUNE 25, 1973 The City Council of the city of Lynwood met in an adjourned regular session in the City Hall, 1133C Bullis Road, on above date at 4:3a p.m. Mayor Byork in the chairo Councilmen Byork, Liewer, Morris, Rowe, Stevens answered the roll call. RESOLUTION N0. 73-52 entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD COMMENDING J. JACK WILLARD," was presented. It was moved by Councilman Liewer, seconded by Councilman Morris, that Resolution No. 73-52 be adopted. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Byork, Liewer, Morris, Rowe, Stevens. Noes: None. Absent: None. The City Manager informed the Council that-the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has declared Mona Boulevard between 120th and 124th Streets as part of the system of highways of Los Angeles County. He recommended adoption of RESOLUTION N0. 73-53 entitled: "RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD CONSENTING TO ESTABLISHMENT OF A PORTION OF MONA BOULEVARD WITHIN SAID CITY AS PART OF THE SYSTEM OF COUNTY HIGHWAYS OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES." It was moved by Councilman Stevens, seconded by Councilman Morris, that Resolution No. 73-53 be adopted. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Byork, Liewer, Morris, Rowe, Stevens. Noes: None. Absent: None. The Memorandum of Understanding with the Lynwood Firefighters' Association for the 1973-74 fiscal year was presented with the recommendation that the Council ratify the Memorandum of Understanding as signed by the Municipal Employee Relations Officer and the Lynwood Firefighters' Association and direct staff to begin preparation of a resolution setting forth salaries and benefits for the 1973-74 fiscal year. It was moved by Councilman Liewer, seconded by Councilman Stevens, that the Council concur in the recommendation. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Byork, Liewer, Morris, Rowe, Stevens. Noes: None. Absent: None. The Manager presented the letter of resignation of Building Official Jack DeJong, effective July 7, 1973• It was moved by Councilman Stevens, seconded by Councilman Rowe, and carried, that it be accepted and ±'"- filed. The City Manager was asked to research past actions of the Council relative to serving of alcoholic beverages in Bateman Hallo It was moved by Councilman Liewer, seconded by Councilman Stevens, and carried, that the meeting adjourn to executive session The City Clerk was excused and Councilman Liewer was appointed City Clerk pro tempore.
