HomeMy Public PortalAboutM 1973-06-28 - CCZ45 ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING JUNE 28, 1973 The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in an adjourned regular session in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, on above date at 4:30 p.m. Mayor Byork in the chair. Councilmen Byork, Liewer, Morris, Rowe answered the roll call. Councilman Stevens was absent. It was moved by Councilman Morris, seconded by Councilman Liewer, and carried, that Council- man Stevens' absence be excused. It was moved by Councilman Rowe that minutes of all executive meetings be kept in short- hand, but not transcribed for the purpose of preventing any misunderstanding of what subjects were discussed if questioned in the future. After discussion, Councilman Rowe withdrew his motion. Discussion re executive sessions RESOLUTION N0. 73-54 entitled: "A RESOLUTION Res. 73-54 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD Salary reso. SETTING FORTH THE SALARIES BY CLASSIFICATION OF 1973-74 ITS OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES, AND OTHER BENEFITS," was presented by the City Manager. r-~, It was moved by Councilman Liewer, seconded by Councilman Morris, that Resolution No. 73-54 be adopted. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Byork, Liewer, Morris, Rowe. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Stevens. The City Manager presented the Annual Operating Res. 73-55 Budget and RESOLUTION N0. 73-55 entitled: "A Adopting budget RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF for 1973-74 LYNWOOD ADOPTING THE ANNUAL OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1973-74," for adoption. Reorganization of the Building and Planning Departments was discussed. Councilman Rowe asked that it be noted that he approved the annual budget with the exception of the increase in the Chamber of Commerce budget. auv~v~u. ''"`~ The City Manager presented a Grant Application, Grant Applicati Intergovernmental Personnel Act of 1970, for a for personnel -- Comprehensive Classification-Compensation Study study approved of all full time employee positions, and recommended that the Council authorize the mayor 2~-f to execute the application. It was moved by Councilman Liewer, seconded by Councilman Rowe, that the Mayor be authorized to execute the Grant Application for a Comprehensive Classification-Compensation Study of all full-time employee positions. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Byork, Liewer, Morris, Rowe. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Stevens. Mayor Byork commented on the City of South Gate increasing their police reserves and asked for a legal opinion on overcrowding of homes.
