SPECIAL MEETING SEPTEMBER 11, 1973
The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in a
special session in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis
Road, on above date at 4:30 p.m.
Mayor Byork in the chair.
Councilmen Byork, Malchow, Morris and Rowe answered
the roll call. Councilman Liewer was absent.
City Manager Wright was also present.
The Mayor announced that the purpose of the meeting
was to consider the OEO/Compton Health District
proposal for a community action program,
Councilman Liewer arrived.
OEO/Compton A report on the OEO/Compton Health District planning
Healgh District meeting of September 6, 1973, was presented by the
proposal City Manager in addition to a written report
discussed previously furnished to the Council. Councilman
Morris and Assistant City Manager Cassingham gave
their view of the meeting and the proposed structure
of the governing board of the proposed agency.
After discussion of the program, it was moved by
Councilman Liewer, seconded by Councilman Malchow,
that Councilman Morris and Miss Cassingham be
asked to attend the next meeting of the OEO/Health
District to be held on September 13, 1973, and
present the following stipulations: (1) that
the board be increased to 15 members to provide
equal representation from the three different
sectors from each jurisdiction, (2) that the
entire City of Carson be included in the program,
and (3) that staffing of the Community Action
Agency represent each jurisdiction equally.
Roll Call:
Ayes: Councilmen Byork, Liewer, Malchow, Morris, Rowe.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.
At the request of the City Manager, it was moved by
Councilman Liewer, seconded by Councilman Morris,
and carried, that the meeting adjourn to
executive session for discussion of matters of
litigation.
Following the executive session, the meeting was
called to order and it was moved by Councilman
Malchow, seconded by Councilman Liewer, and carried,
that the meeting be adjourned.
