HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 09-06 Ballot for August 4 Special Election - SignedRESOLUTION NO. 09-06 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MCCALL, IDAHO DESIGNATING THE BALLOT FOR A SPECIAL ELECTION ON AUGUST 4, 2009 PERTAINING TO THE REFERENDUM ON THE CURRENT FORM OF CITY GOVERNMENT. WHEREAS, Electors within the City of McCall have filed a Petition seeking a special election for a referendum on the current form of city government; and WHEREAS, the Mayor has issued a Proclamation designating August 4, 2009 as the date of the special election; and WHEREAS, the City must prepare a ballot for the special election. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of McCall, Idaho, as follows: Section 1: That the ballot for the special city election to be held August 4, 2009 shall read set forth below: A Referendum on the form of government for the City of McCall, Idaho Shall the City of McCall, Idaho retain its organization under the "council-manager plan?" A YES vote would retain the current form of government consisting of an elected five member city council which designates one of its members to serve as mayor and appoints a city manager with responsibilities as defined in Idaho Code Title 50 Chapter 8. A NO vote would change the form of government to an elected four or six member city council and an elected mayor with responsibilities as defined in Idaho Code Title 50 Chapters 6 and 7. Section 2: The City Clerk is directed to provide a copy of this Resolution to the Elections Office of Valley County, Idaho. PASSED AND APPROVED this 5th day of June, 2009.
