ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING JULY 5 1974
The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in an
adjourned session in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis
Road, on above date at 4:00 p.m.
Mayor Liewer in the chair.
Councilmen Byork, Green, Liewer, Rowe answered the
roll call. Councilmen Morris was absent.
It was moved by Councilman Byork, seconded by
Councilman Green, and carried, that Councilman. Morris'
absence be excused.
Budget discussion The City Manager reviewed with the City Council the
revised budget and the letter accompanying the
budget, and suggested that each item be studied
before consideration is given to implementation.
He informed the Council that although not complete,
the budget now includes all the salary modifications
approved by the Council.
Councilman Morris arrived.
Increased cost of workman's compensation insurance
coverage and alternatives available to the City
were discussed at length. Various sources of
increased revenue were commented on by the City
Manager, including the possibility of becoming a
charter city because of taxing options available
to charter cities. Councilman Morris suggested
that a city representative go to Sacramento to
determine that the City is receiving its proper
allocation of sales tax revenue. The City Manager
was also asked to investigate increased retirement
tax revenue to provide increased retirement benefits
for those persons already retired from city service.
Mrs. Diane Maril addressed the Council to protest certain
salary increases, suggesting that the funds might be
put to better use in providing added police protection.

1974-75 CITY OF LYNWOOD SETTING FORTH THE SALARIES BY CLASSIFICATION
OF ITS OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES, AND OTHER BENEFITS."
City Clerk & City Salary increases granted to management personnel as
Treas. salaries compared to the increase granted to the City Clerk
adjusted and City Treasurer were discussed.
It was moved by Councilman Byork, seconded by Council-
man Green, that Appendix "D" be amended to change the
salary of the City Clerk and City Treasurer to $1400
per month and that Resolution No. 74-57 be adopted as
amended.

adjourn to Friday, July 12, 1974, at 4:00 p.m.
