ADJOUxNED REGULAR MEETING JUNE 5, 1975
The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in an
adjourned regular session in the City Hall, 11j30
Bullis Woad, on above date at 4:OU p.m.
Mayor Liewer in the chair.
Councilmen Byork, Green, Liewer, Rowe answered the
roll call. Councilman Morris was absent.
Budget study Recreation Director Snavely addressed the Council to
Rec. ~ Parks request that reconsideration be given to his
Dept. recommendations that a Yark Foreman classification be
established and that additional compensation be given
those employees that work on a seven-day week basis.
Councilman Morris arrived.
Also discussed were i~ir. Snavely's requests for additional
park maintenance men, parity with Utility Maintenance
men for Park Maintenance personnel and additional
building maintenance and custodial personnel.
'Budget Study Public Works Director Alvarado addressed the Council
'Gas Tax Projs.to review Gas 'l'ax Projects for fiscal year 1975-76
and the following actions were taken:
1. Tree removal and sidewalk replacement. It was
moved by Councilman Rowe, seconded by Councilman t~york,
and carried, that $30,OOu be allocated for the tree
removal and sidewalk replacement program.
2. It was moved by Councilman Green, seconded by Council- '"""'~!
man Byork, and carried, that $9,000 be allocated t'or
the beautification and landscaping of Imperial Highway
and Century Boulevard medians.
3. It was moved by Councilman Green, seconded by Council-
man Morris, and carried, that $52,000 be inserted in the
budget for the Long Beach Boulevard Phase III Construction
t'or a total project allocation of $105,000.
4. '1'he allocation of X100,000 for Long Beach Boulevard
Phase IV as recommended by the City Manager was approved.
5. The allocation of $80,Ou0 for the improvement of
Imperial Highway from California Avenue to Century
Boulevard was approved.
6. The allocation of $50,000 for Peach Street ~otrm drain
and roadwork improvement as recommended by the Manager
was approved.
7. The Council approved the Manager's recommendation of
$20,000 for cross gutter construction and street improvement.
8. ~l'he Council deleted the Atlantic Avenue roadway
improvement project as recommended by the Manager,.
9. Tne Council approved the Manager's recommendation of
X45,000 for alley reconstruction.
10. The Council deleted the slurry seal coat improvement as
recommended by the Manager.

11. The Council approved the Manager's recommendation of
$30,000 for the Imperial Highway Lighting improvement
project .
12. The Council deleted the State Street median improvement.
13. The Council approved the Manager's recommendation
of $10,000 t'or concrete ramps for the physically
handicapped.
It was moved by Councilman Morris, seconded by Council-
man Liewer, that the meeting adjourn to Friday, June b,
1975, at 1:00 p.m. All members present voting aye, the
Mayor declared the motion carried.
