Tne City Council of the City of Lynwood met in an
adjourned regular session in the City Hall, 1133u
Bullis Road, on above date at 4:OU p.m.
Mayor Liewer in the chair.
Councilmen Byork, Liewer, Morris, Rowe answered the
roll call. Councilman Green was absent.
Councilman Morris asked that at the time the total
budget is adopted that the Council review each item
as there are items he would like clarified and that
he is opposed to.
Councilman Green arrived.
Budget Study After further discussion, the Council directed the
Comm. Promo. & City Manager to proceed with the budget items reviewed
Publicity at the adjourned regular meeting of June 9, lg'(5.
Councilman Morris agreed to present a list of items
to be clarified at a later date.
The City Manager presented the Community Promotion
Account (1-12U) for Council discussion.
l~tr. Louis Thompson, 3y39 Walnut, representative of
the Chamber of Commerce, addressed the Council to
review the budget request of $22,79 and to point out
the reduction from last year's budget by $1,455.
After discussion, it was moved by Councilman Green,
seconded by Councilman Byork, that the City allot
the Chamber of Commerce $22,7jg for the fiscal year
1975-76.

Noes: None.
Absent: None.
Mr. Hal Clifton representative of the Lynwood Jaycees was present
to review the buaget request of $1,500.
The Council discussed the 4th of July project and
asked that a financial statement be submitted each
quarter.
The Council discussed the sub-account of Other
rromotions and the aadition of sub-accounts Commission
Expenses and Special Project-Curb Numbering.
It was moved oy Councilman Byork, seconded by Council-
man l~lorris, that the Council accept the Community
Promotion and Publicity Account (1-120).

Absent: None.
Public Works Director Alvarado presented a report
on a project for the improvement of one-half of State
Street from Fernwood to Century under the Federal
Highway Act of 1973. rie explained that the only
expenditures in the 1975-7b fiscal year would be
...~.. t'or modification of existing project plans .
', It was the consensus of the Council that the
project be approved.
Mr. Alvarado also asked the Council to reconsider
the position of student aide in the Public Works
Department.
It was-moved by Councilman Green, seconded by Council-
man Byork, and carried, that the position of student
aide be included in the Public Works Department budget.
Mayor Liewer was excused from the remainder of the
meeting.
Mr. Emmett Schwartz, 12010 Long Beach tsoulevard,
addressee the Council to answer questions concerning
the increase in cost of the City's public liability
insurance. He explained that he rids been contacting
various insurance companies for quotations and has
received one quotation that is approximately $2,000
less.
The Council discussed contacting other insurance brokers
~-- and going to bid for the insurance. After further
discussion, the Manager was asked to contact other
cities and to report at the next regular meeting.
It was moved by Councilman Byork, seconded by
Councilman Rowe, and carried, that the meeting
adjourn to June 11, 1975, at 4:U0 p.m.
