HomeMy Public PortalAboutM 1975-06-11 - CCADJOURNED REGULAR 1~lEETING JUNE 11, 1975 `.l'he City Council of the City of Lynwood met in an adjourned regular session in the>City Hall, 11330 Bullis ttoad, on above date at 4:00 p.m, Mayor Liewer in the chair. Councilmen Byork, Liewer and Rowe answered the roll call. Councilmen Green and Morris were absent. Also present was City Manager Wright. !BUDGET SUTDY Building Official Gerald Sanders reviewed his department Bldg. Dept budget (Account 1-150) and asked that the Council consider establishing at least one of the positions funded by CETA as a permanent position of Building Inspector at the termination of the CETA program. After discussion, the Council suggested that the positions not be changed as the CETA program may be extended. At'ter review of the abatement fund, travel and meetings and the Capital Outlay budget recommendations, it was the consensus of the Council that the Manager proceed with the Building Department budget as recommended. Plan. llept Mr. Mel Rice, Planning llirector, presented hi:s department budget Account 1-110) and asked that the Council re-establish the position of Planning Technician. '1'he salary of $10,632 for the position of secretary was questioned and the Manager noted that the correct salary figure should be X11,376. In discussing the reclassification of Clerk-Stenographers to Secretaries, Councilman Rowe pointed out that the budget showsa total of six secretary positions with a different budgeted salary for each position ranging from $9,731 to ~12,94y. The Manager explained that the salary range should be consistent for each position and that he would provide a full study for the Council snowing the salaries for each secretarial position. The Capital projects were discussed, and it was the consensus of the Council that the Manager proceed with the Planning department budget with the modification of the secretary salary. Audit Ser. The Manager reported on the survey made of various cities with regard to the cost of audit service and concluded that the increased cost to $6,200 is suitable for the service provided. Tne Council concurred in the Manager's budget recommendation.
