HomeMy Public PortalAboutM 1975-10-01 - CC3~ ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OCTOBEiR 1, 1975 The City Council of the city of Lynwood met in an adjourned regular session in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, on above date at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Liewer in the chair. Councilmen Byork, Green, Liewer, Morris, and Rowe answered the roll call. Also present was Assistant City Manager Cassingham. PTA Membership Mayor Liewer read a proclamation designating the Month month of October as "PTA Membership Month." Mrs. proclaimed Edith Armstrong, representing the PTA, was present to receive a copy of the proclamation. Stabilization The Mayor explained the purpose of the meeting Corrmii.ssion// was to meet jointly with the Community Stabilization Council Commission. Commission members Peppard, Espeseth discussion and Waranius were present. Councilman Green asked that an attendance record be provided for the City Council. Mr. Peppard described briefly some of the problems the Commission has experienced, especially in the area of member participation, and suggested that in future selection of commission members that the Commission be permitted to give suggestions as to possible candidates for appointment. An informal discussion of past Commission activities and a request for direction from the City Council was presented by the Commission. The Council expressed satisfaction with the programs carried out, particularly the block parties and rallys. Communication with the community appeared to be of primary concern to the Commission and after consid- erable discussion, it was agreed by Sgt. Henderson that if he and the Commission secretary are provided with information from the Commission, it will be prepared and submitted to the newspapers. Commissions Herrera and Thompson arrived. Senior citizen busing to area rallys was discussed and the Council consensus was that it should be tried again. Dissemination of information on controversial matters by means of an ad taken by the City was discussed briefly. It was moved by Councilman Byork, seconded by Councilman Morris, and carried, that the meeting adjourn to October 7, 1975, at 7 p.m. City Clerk, City of LynwooL~ APPROVED 0 OBER 7 1975 May r o City of Lynwood
