The Mayor announced that the time had arrived for a
joint public hearing between the City Council and
the Lynwood Redevelopment Agency on the redevelopment
plan for Alameda Project Area.
The meeting of the Lynwood Redevelopment Agency was
called to order. Members Green, Liewer and Rowe
were present. Members Byork and Morris were absent.
The Mayor announced that the City Council and the Hearing on
Lynwood Redevelopment Agency were now in j oint session Alameda Project
and asked for a report on the matter to be heard.. Area
The City Manager reported that the joint hearing
was for the purpose of hearing testimony with
respect to the redevelopment plan for Alameda
Project Area, and that no objection to the plan
has been received. Also, that the final plan has
been reviewed by the Project Area Committee and
by the Planning Commission.
Mr. Frank Fargo, of Wainwright and Ramsey, reported
that the plan has the approval of the Project Area
Committee and conforms to the requirements of law.
He stated one letter has been received indicating
a concern about acquisition of Parcels 6150-36-17
and 22, but there is no plan for that property to
be acquired.
The Mayor inquired if anyone present wished to speak
concerning the redevelopment plan.
Mr. Robert Cabrell, representing Stanray Corporation,
inquired about possible acquisition of land in the
area west of Alameda and south of Imperial Highway.
Mr. Fargo informed him that there will possibly be
a need for a spur track across the area in question
and possible right of way acquisition for Mona
Boulevard improvement.
j Councilman Morris arrived..
Mr. Levine, owner of the northeast corner of Lynwood
Road and Alameda Street, inquired if the parcel
is included in the project area. He was informed
that it is, but its acquisition is not contemplated.
Mr. Bill Osborne, of Chemetron Corporation, inquired
how their property would be affected, and he was
informed that the required improvements would not
involve taking the property.
William Strickland, representing Economic Resources
Corporation, inquired about the affect on their
property, and was informed there might be a need
for extension of the railway spur to provide better
access to the west of Alameda Street.

Hearing on Mr. Don Shane, representing Western Gear, asked
Alameda Project what affect the project will have on Western Gear and
Area was informed that there is a possibility of a/~andonment
of Santa Fe Avenue property and possible modification
of Franklin and Bellinger Streets.
Mr. Stan Davis, 24421 Encorvado Lane, Mission Viejo
82675, described property he owns on Franklin Street,
and Mr. Fargo informed him that he knew of no need
for acquisition of his property unless for the
possible future extension of Santa Fe Avenue. Mr.
Davis also read a letter he had received from the
City in 1868 concerning acquisition of his property.
The Mayor again inquired if there were any others
wishing to speak. As there was no response, the
hearing was closed.
Ord. first read` An ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
adopting Alameda COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE
Redevelopmen OFFICIAL REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR ALAMEDA PROJECT AREA
Plan AND MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS AND DETERMINATIONS WITH
RESPECT THERETO." was presented. It was moved by
Councilman Morris, seconded by Councilman Green,
that the ordinance be read by title only.

Ayes: Councilmen Green, Liewer, Morris, Rowe.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Byork.
It was moved by Councilman Morris, seconded by
Councilman Green, that the ordinance be introduced.

Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Byork.
It was moved by Councilman Green, seconded by
Councilman Morris, and carried, that the meeting
adjourn to November 18, 1975, at 7 p.m.
