ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 27, 1976
The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in an adjourned
regular session in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, on
above date at 7:30 p.m.
Mayor Rowe in the chair.
Councilmen Byork, Higgins, Morris and Rowe answered the
roll call.

Also present was Acting City Manager Shepherd.
After reviewing the anticipated revenue and expenditures
for the General Fund Operating Budget for 1976-77, it was
moved by Councilman Higgins, seconded by Councilman Morris,
and carried, that overtime budgeted for the Police Depart-
ment be reduced to $30,000. It was moved by Councilman
Higgins, seconded by Councilman Morris, that hourly
employees be limited to working a maximum of 1,000 hours
per year, to save an estimated $50,000 per year.

Ayes: Councilmen Byork, Higgins, Morris, Rowe.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Green.
After further discussion of means of saving costs, it was
moved by Councilman Morris, seconded by Councilman Higgins,
that the Council approve an across-the-board reduction in
operating expense of 5%, elimination of $70,000 in budgeted
Police Department overtime, limitation on hourly employment
to 1,000 hours per year, and use of Revenue Sharing to
meeting the remaining estimated deficit.

Absent: Councilman Green.
RESOLUTION NO . 7 6-7 4 entitled : "A RESOLUTION OF THE Res . 76-74
INCORPORATED CITY OF LYNWOOD FIXING THE RATES OF TAXES, AND Fixing Tax
LEVYING TAXES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 1976 Rate 1976-
AND ENDING JUNE 30, 1977." was presented. It was moved by 1977
Councilman Morris, seconded by Councilman Byork, and carried,
that RESOLUTION N0. 76-74 be adopted, with the tax rates to
remain at .86~ for General Purposes, .74~ for the City's
contribution to the State Retirement Fund authorized at an
election, and .Old authorized by Council RESOLUTION N0. 7~--80.

Ayes: Councilmen Byork, Higgins, Morris, Rowe.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Green.
It was moved by Councilman Morris, seconded by Councilman
Byork, and carried, that the meeting adjourn to Monday,
August 30, 1976, for personnel matters.
