ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING APRIL 12, 1977
The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in an adjourned
regular session in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, on
above date at 7:30 p.m.
"" Mayor Rowe in the chair.
Councilmen Byork, Green, Higgins, Morris and Rowe answered
the roll call.
Also present were City Attorney Murphy and City Manager
Valliere.
The meeting was adjourned to executive session for discussion
of matters of litigation pertaining to insurance.
Following the executive session, the meeting was called to
order.
It was moved by Councilman Morris, seconded by Councilman City Mgr. autt
Higgins, that the City Manager be instructed to negotiate to negotiate
with agents, brokers or companies that might be interested for insurance
in insuring the City of Lynwood and to investigate the
package-type of coverage. As there were no objections, the
Mayor declared the motion carried.
The City Manager read a letter from Sheriff Peter J. Pitchess
in which he informed the Council that in order to meet the
tentative May 1st starting date for Sheriff's Department
services, it will be necessary that the City Council approve
and sign the contract agreements no later than April 12,
,,~, 1977. The City Manager also read the list of actions which
must be taken by the Council if they wish to proceed.
The City Attorney reviewed the documents to be approved and
the resolutions to be adopted in order to proceed as follows:
RESOLUTION N0. 77-31 entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING THE CITY/COUNTY
LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES AGREEMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION THEREOF." was presented. It was moved by
Councilman Higgins, seconded by Councilman Morris, that
Resolution No. 77-31 be adopted.

Noes: Councilmen Byork, Green.
Absent: None.
RESOLUTION N0. 77-32 entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD REQUESTING ADDITIONAL LAW
ENFORCEMENT SERVICES WITHIN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD FROM THE
LOS ANGELES COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT UNDER THE LAW
ENFORCEMENT SERVICES AGREEMENT." was presented. It was
moved by Councilman Morris, seconded by Councilman
Higgins, that Resolution No. 77-32 be adopted.

It was moved by Councilman Byork, seconded by
Councilman Morris, and carried, that the meeting
adjourn to Friday, April 15, 1977, at 5 p.m.
