A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF McCALL, IDAHO,
RELATING TO THE AUTHORIZATION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE IDAHO
TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT REGARDING A SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL
PROJECT AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Idaho Transportation Department, hereafter called the STATE, has
implemented a program entitled the Safe Routes to School (SR2S) program; and
WHEREAS, the program provides funding for infrastructure improvements related to
pedestrian and bicycle facilities within a two mile radius of an eligible school; and
WHEREAS, the City of McCall has identified a portion of the City of McCall proposed
pathway system near Payette Lakes Middle School that may be eligible for construction through
the SR2S program, and
WHEREAS, the CITY is submitting a funding application to the SR2S program for
construction funding for the identified pathway; and
WHEREAS, the CITY supports the proposed Safe Routes to School project and has the
legal authority to apply for and pledge the funds required to receive reimbursement for the
requested Safe Routes to School funds and will provide maintenance for all infrastructure
improvements upon completion; and
WHEREAS, the City understands that this application is not a grant application and is a
request for reimbursement through the federal aid system and that all federal rules for
contracting, auditing and paying will apply to the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That the submission of the SR2S project application for the Payette Lakes Middle
School project is hereby approved.
2. That the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute the Agreement on
behalf of the CITY with the STATE if funds are awarded for the project.
3. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect upon its passage and approval.
