Meeting of the Board of Trustees,April 16th.1923

The Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood
met at City Hall,205 West Mulford Avenue,
Monday evening,April 16th.1.923 at 7:30 P.M.
Roll Call: Present,Trustee Wiliard,Anderson,
Merrill and Menzel.Absent,Trustee Rehfeld.City Clerk present.
Minutes of meeting of April 4th.read and approved.
New Bus. Upon motion made and seconded the Board proceeded
to canvass the result of the Special Municipal Election held
on Friday,April 13th.1923 .
A Resolution,being Resolution No.87,entitled,A
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD,
CALIFORNIA,declaring the result of the official count and
canvass of the Special Recall Municipal Election held in
said. City of Lynwood,Friday,April 13th.1923,was then offered
by Trustee Willard, The whole number of votes cast in said
City was found to be 268,on the proposition "Shall Gustav
W,Rehfeld be recalled as a member of the Board of Trustees
of the City of Lynwood ".There were 264 affirmative votes
and 20 negative.For member of the Board of Tru tees ,Frank
M,Downey received 170 votes,Rob't,Reynolds 90
2 votes,and Mr,Hadley 2 votes.In accordance therewith,the
aforesaid proposition was declared to have been carried,and
the aforesaid Frank M.Downey having received the highest
number of votes to fill vacancy created on Board of Trustees,
was declared elected.
Motion by Trustee Menzel,seeonded by Trustee
W illard,that Frank M,Downey be installed as a member of the
Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood,the Clerk adminis-
tered the Oath of Office,and delivered certificate of elec-
tion to Mr.Downey.
C omp Communication from City Attorney W.H,Thomas
in regard to lighting district was read by the Clerk and
ordered filed,
Moved and carried that the Clerk be in-
structed to communicate with the Byron Jackson Iron works
regarding completion of installation of Pump V0.1-
Moved and carried that Trustee Willard
confer with W,B,Hall,Contractor in regard to driveway at
Plant V0,1
On motion Clerk was i.nstrue4d to ask
Planning Commission to meet with the Board of rustees
Wednesday evening April 18th.
Moved and carried that the City Marshall
have neeeessary repairs made on electric signs on Long
Beach Boulevard.
On motion the Board adjourned to meet
again April 18th.1923 at 7:30 P.M.
