HomeMy Public PortalAboutM 1923-04-18 - CCMeeting of the Board of Trustees,April 18th.1923 ------------------------------------------------ THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD MET AT CITY HALL, 205 WEST MULFORD AVENUE, WEDNESDAY EVENING, APRIL 18,1923 , AT 7:30 P.M. Mr.Baldwin also spoke regarding the curb and side- walk privately installed on East Beechwood Avenue.This matter was referred to the City Engineer by the Board. Reports of Trustee Willard reported that work on installation Com. of pumping equipmentat Plant No.l was practically completed. Trustee Willard also reported that satisfactory arrangements had been made with the paving contractor regarding driveway at Plant No.l . Unfinished The new Planning Commission ordinance was then Business read for the second time,and on motion made and seconded, was declared read for the second time and laid over for third reading and final passage. Paying Bills The following demands were presented: Mrs.Daisy D,Zeiser Judge of Election Bertha Bluff Clerk W.S,Baker Judge n " Geo.W.Eyle Clerk n " A.B,Gray Judge " " 5.00 Labor 30,25 W,A,Souders Auditing City Books 140 hrs.@ $1.00 per hour Chas,M,Donk Auditing City Books 128 hrs, @,$1,00 per hour TOTAL The foregoing demands were allowed and drawn for same,Moved and carried. Ayes: Trustee Anderson,Downey,Merrill Noes : None Absent: Trustee Menzel 5.00 5.00 5.00 5,00 35.25 140.00 128.00 X323.25 warrants ordered and Willard. Roll Call: r- Present,Trustee Willard,Merrill,Anderson and Downey. Absent Trustee Menzel.City Clerk present.President Anderson in the chair.Minutes of meeting of April 16th,read and approved. Written Communication from E.E.Fairchild and C.J,Donovan Commu. requesting a permit to operate a pool and billard hall in the City of Lynwood,presented to the Board.On motion made and carried the above parties were requested to take the matter up with the people of the City in the form of a petition. Oral Comm. D.J,Crowell of the Lynwood Electric Company addressed the Board on the subject of vocational licenses, asking that the matter be adjusted at the convenience of the Board. O.K,Baldwin addressed the Board on the question of septic tank installing .Moved and carried that the Building Inspector is hereby authorized to accept suitable tanks instead of cesspools whenever requested. I n V :.l On motion made and carried City Clerk was instructed to notify Southern California Gas Company to protect openings in side walks left for purpose of in- stalling meters.
