Meeting of the Board of Trustees April 25, 1923

THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
MET AT CITY HALL, 205 NEST MULFORD AVENUE,
WEDNESDAY APRIL 25,1923 AT 7:30 P. M.
PURSUANT TO ADJOURNMENT.
Roll Call: Present,Trustees Menzel,Willard,
Merrill,Downey and Anderson.President Anderson in the chair.
City Clerk present.
Written
Commu. A communication from City Attorney W.H.Thomas
regarding the estimated cost of the energy and number of lights
for the proposed lighting district was read and ordered filed.
City Clerk made a report concerning the dispo-
sition of the Gray case bail.Same was accepted and ordered filed.
A communication was received from John Plato
regarding a guy wire which he claims obstructs entrance to his
property on West Beechwood.Same referred to City Inspector.

Commu. Dr.Bell addressed the Board relative to sanitary
conditions in the City,also in regard to expense incurred by him
as Health Officer.On motion by Trustee Merrill ,seconded by Trustee
Menzel,the Board advised Dr.Bell that all legitimate expense in
connection with his work as Health Officer of the City of Lynwood
would be allowed.
Mr.Petticrew spoke on proposed street work on his
street,West Elmwood,expressing himself as not being in favor of
widening same as proposed in a petition on file with the Clerk.

Bus. The Clerk reported that this was the time and
place fixed in Resolution of Intention No.8E,to hear objections
to the contemplated work of improvements described therein.The
Clerk thereupon informed the Board that he had received no written
protests or objections and all persons present had been given full
opportunity to be heard.A Resolution was then offered by Trustee
Willard entitled "A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City
of L nwood,ordering the improvement of a certain portion of the
South Roadway of Fernwood Avenue in the City of Lynwood,California.
Said Resolution being Resolution No.88 was read by the Clerk , and
on roll call was adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustee Menzel,Merrill,Willard,Downey and Anderson.
Noes :None
Absent :None
Mr.Handy representing City Attorney Thomas being
New Bus, present,the regulation of prospective oil drilling within the
city limits was taken up and discussed at considerable length
'-' by the entire Board.On motion by Trustee Menzel seconded by
Trustee Merrill,it was ordered that City Attorney Thomas be
requested to draft an Ordinance regulating drilling operations,
storage tanks ,refineries etc within the city limits.
On motion by Trustee Ment61 seconded by Trustee.
Willard,the Clerk was instructed to request the Pacific Electric
Railway to clean the weeds etc . from around their stations in
the City of Lynwood.On motion by Trustee Willard seconded by
Trustee Downey,Trustee Menzel was appointed a special committee
to ascertain cost of installation of toilets in the Pacific
Electric Station.

New On motion of Trustee Menzel seconded,by Trustee
Bus. Willard the Water Supt.was authorized to purchase neccessary water
gates to be used in connection with the replacement work of water
mains now in progress.
On motion the Board adjourned to meet at the
usual time and place on Wednesday May 2nd.1923 at 7:30 P,M
