Roll Call: Present,Trustees Willard,Menzel, Merrill,Downey and Anderson.President Anderson in the chair. City Clerk present. Minutes of May 2nd.read and approved. Oral Commu. Mr.Gray spoke on weed cutting.N'T.Beymer asked tIkt a request be made to have him relieved from 3ury.duty.The Clerk was so instructed. Mr.Osgood and Mr.!_nderson of the Osgood Lumber Company expressed their appreciation of the courtesies etc..shown them by the Board. Unfin.Bus. An Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood,California, providing for licensing and regulating the carrying on' of certain professions,trades,callings,and occupations in the City of Lynwood and fixing penalty for the violation thereof.Also anulling Ordinance Vo.8 of said City ",was read for the second time,and on motion duly made and seconde4,was declared for the second time and laid over for third reading and final passage. In accordance with recommendations of City Planning Commission,the petition for street improvement on Beechwood Avenue was referred back to signers with recommendation that oil Macadam be substituted for the oil street asked for. The petition for street work on Long Beach Boulevard north of Beechwoo d,Avenue,was ordered recalled from City Engineer and referred back to signers,with rec- omendation that a cement roadway be asked for instead of Oil Macadam. Paying Bills The following demands were presented and audited. Carried by the following vote. Ayes: Trustee Anderson,Downey,Merrill,Willard and M Noes: Done Absent: None New Bus. A new Ordinance offered by Trustee Merrill,entitled, "An Ordinance regulating the testing and sale of petrolium� - 11�j, "''l -"- ;,,- . products " was read by the Clerk and on motion by.Trustee ` Merrill,seconded by Trustee Downey,was declared read for the first time and laid over for second reading.On motion made and seconded,the above ordinance was referred to City Attorney for recommendation. Petitions for street work on South Los Flores and Modjeska Boulevard were submitted to the Board and on motion made and carried the same were referred to City Engineer. Maps of Tracts 4236,6473 and 6474 were examined by the Board,and on motion made and seconded were approved and ordered returned to the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County. On motion by Trustee Menzel,Seconded by Trustee Willard,the Osgood Lumber Company was granted permission to lay and connect a two inch main with City main for fire protect ion.vxd- The Clerk was instructed to communicate with the Redwood Company and Byron Jackson Company regarding delays to their City contracts,also to request City Engineer Lynch and Contractor W.E.Hall to meet with the Board,if possible, Wednesday evening May 23rd. The Clerk was also instructed to ascertain the best. method of handling street repair work when same is neccessary because of gas service installation. A motion by Trustee Downey,seconded by Trustee Menzel, that the City Marshal be instructed to order street buttons for the various intersections on Long Beach Boulevard,was carried by the following vote. Ayes: Trustee Downey ,Anderson,Merri.11,Nillard and Menzel Noes: None Absent: None On motiog,,the Board adjourned to meet again Nednesday, May 23rd, it 7:30 P. M.
