Meeting of the Board of Trustees,May 23,1923

THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF LYNWIOOD MET PURSUANT
TO ADJOURNMENT AT 7:30 P M ,WEDNESDAY, MAY 23,1923 at the
USUAL PLACE.
Roll Call: Present,Trustee.W illard,Merrill,
Downey,Anderson and Menzel.City Clerg present,President
Anderson in the chair,
Minutes of meeting of May 16th.read and approved,
Written A written protest from Dr,Kezia A,Parker
Comma. relative to a line fence on her property,was received
and ordered tabled,
Oral Comm. Mr,Skelton enquired regarding possibility for
street improvement work on Tweedy - Abbott Road.City Engineer
Lynch said that he would take the matter up with Board of
Supervisors
Mr,Weber asked about the drainp.�P for the district
north of Dorton Avenue.He was assured by Mr,Lynch that satis-
factory arrangements would be made regarding same.
City Engineer Lynch explained his ideas regarding
improvements on streets where a center parking is located.On
motion by Trustee Downey seconded by Trustee Menzel,it was
decided to ask the Planning Commission and property owners
on these streets to meet with the Board on Friday,June Ist.
to discuss contemplated improvements on these streets.The
Clerk was instructed to notify all concerned.
Unf in. Upon motion by mrustbe Menzel,seeonded by Trustee
Bus. Merrill,the Clerk was instructed to op e n,examine and publicly
declare all sealed proposals or bids on file for performing
the work contemplated under Resolution of Intention No.86:
Whereupon the Clerk opened ,examined and publicly declared the
bids of the following persons ,to- wit:Hall- Johnson Company .
Upon motion by Trustee Willard,seconded by Trustee Merrill,the
above bid was referred to City Engineer Lynch for recommendation.
New Bus. A petition asking for street improvement on Nest
Los Flores Boulevard was received On motion by Trustee Downey,
seconded by Trustee Menzel,the same was ordered referred to
Planning Commission,
A petition asking for street improvement on East
Orchard Street was received.On motion by Trustee Merrill,
seconded by Trustee Menzel,same was ordered referred to Planning
Commission.
A petition asking for street improvement work on
Redwood Avenue was received.On motion by Trustee Menzel,seeonded
by Trustee Merrill,the same was ordered referred to City Engineer
to have Resolutions of Intention drawn covering same.
Resolution of Intention No.92,offered by Trustee
Downey,entitled " A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the
!--'r City of Lynwood,declaring its intention to improve a portion of
Nevada Street and Virginia Street in said City of Lynwood, #nd
declaring the District to be assessed to pay the costs and
expenses enses of said im rovement was adopted ted b the following
P p p y vot e.
Ayes:Trustee Anderson,Merrill,Willard,Downey and Menzel.
Noes: None
Absent: None
New Bus, Resolution of Intention No.92 offered by Trustee
Willard,entitled "Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the
City of Lynwood,declaring its intention to improve certain
portions of South Roadway of Fernwood Avenue and Peach Street
in the City of Lynwood,a.nd describing the District to be assessed
to pay the costs and expenses of said improvement " was adopted
by the following vote.
Ayes:Trustee Downey,W illard.,Anderson ,Menzel and Merrill.
Noes :None
Absent:None
Resolution No,69 offered by Trustee_ Xenze.1,entitled
" A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood,
adopting plans and specifications for improvements to be made on
certain streets in the City of Lynwood,together with the District
to be assessed to pay cost and expenses thereof ",was adopted by
the following vote.
Ayes: Trustee Merrill, Anderson, Menzel,Downey and Lt at. 44
Noes: None
Absent:None
Resolution of Intention No.90,offered by Trustee
Merrill,entitled "A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the
City of Lynwood,declaring its intention to improvz LEWIS� STREET,
Olive Street,and portions of School Street,Josephine Street and
Lynwood Road and describing the District to be assessed to pay
costs and expenses of said improvement" was adopted by the
following vote.
Ayes:Trustee Merrill .Iffillard,Andersor,,Downey any Menzel.
Noes: None
Absent:None
On motion by Trustee Menzel,seconded by Trustee
Downey,the City Engineer was asked to have driveway approaches
so constructed that there would be no depression in sidewalk. ..,.
On motion Board adjourned to meet at the usual
time and place on Friday,June lst.1923 at 7:30 P.M.
