The Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood met in

nesda)7, June 20, I923, at 7:30 p. m.
Roll. Present Trustees Merrill, Menzel, ,Villard, Down(--,,-
Call and rInderson.
President Anderson in the chair,
City Clerk present.
Minutes cf ttte meeting of June C, I923, read and ap-
proved as read.
"lrit. A communication from the Regional Planning CorEimissi-
Coms. on was read. A motion by Trustee ' "lillard, seconded by Trustee
Downey, that f cc- operation in this work be offered by the
Poard, was carried.
A letter frori City Atty Thomas' stating that he would
be absent for 30 days after June 29, and inelosing statement
covering services to the City for the months of March, April_,
May and June, was read. A motion by Trustee N.lerrill, seconded
by Trustee Downey, that the City Atty's bill for 0125.00 cov-
ering the period ,above stated, be allowed and warrant ordered
drawn for same, was carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Merrill., Menzel, ;'lillarcl, Downey and
Anderson.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.

The new Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance of the

Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood, California, regul-
ating the testing and sale of Petroleum and Petroleum prod -
trcts," said Ordinance being Ordinance No. 22 of the City of
Lynwood, was read for the third and last time and placed on
final. passage. 1 7herevpon. said Ordinance was passed by the
following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Merrill, Menzel, 71il.lard, Downey and
Anderson.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.

Petitions asking for street work on the following
Bus.
streets were read: South Roadc.y of "lest Fernwood Ave from
Long Reach Blvd to Peach Street, Vlest Lo ui s Street, Nest
Cedar Ave and 'lest North Los Plows Blvd. On motion made and
seconded the foregoing petitions were ordered referred to the
City Vngineer to have Resolutions of Intention drawn covering
same.
Petitions asking for street work on the South Road-
way of '.Jest Pernwood Ave from Peach Street to the westerly
boundary line of the City and South Peach Street were on mo-
tion made and seconded referred to the City Planning Commis-
sion.
A petition protesting against the moving of certain
^-*
old- structures into the district, on ',lest Louise Street was
read. The Board explained that having no Ordinance covering
the matter it was impossible to take action against this pra-
ctice at the present ter ^e, but assured the petitioners that,
all buildin and sanitation requirements woulb be enforced.
On motion by Trustee Millard, seconded by Trustee Menzel, the
pe,ition was ordered filed.
A request for a key to thp.City_Ttall having been re-
ceived from the 'roman's Club, on motion by Trustee Menzel,
seconded by Trustee Verrill, it was ordered that keys be plac-
ed in the c�istody of M.rs. 'Trkfit.z and ",Irs. ''Jhitaker.
New A motion made by 7'rijstee Menzel, seconded by
Bus. Trustee 1illard. 'that the Clerk be authorized to - our-
chase a set. of stencils for the purpose of painting
the names or the various streets at all intersections,

A motion by Trustee Doiriney, seconded by Trus-
tee '?enze`,that Geo. H. Rowley be appointed Water Sup-
erintendent, said appointment to take effect at once,
was carried by the following vote:

ey and Anderson.
