Meeting of Board.. of Trustees Wednesday, Tune 27, I923.
The Board of Trustees City of Lynwood met in regular ad-
journed session Wednesday, .Tune 27, I923, at City Hall, 205 '.lest
Telford ave, at 7 :30 P. M.
Roll Present, Trustees Merrill, Menzel, Willard, Downey and
Call Anderson.
Absent, None.
President Anderson in the chair.
Clerk present,
Writ An acknowledgement of receipt of check covering attorney
Coms. fees to .Tune 30, was received from A. H. Thomas. On motion by
Trustee Merrill, seconded by Trustee Downey, the same wavordered
filed.
A communication from the City Planning Commission recom-
mending that gutters be included in all Resolutions of Intention
to improve the streets of the City, and stating why this was nec-
essary, in' practically every case, was read, and on motion by
Trustee Merrill, seconded by Trustee Willard, was ordered filed
Oral NO. Avery and MY. Gosney, representing the Fureka Fire
Coms. Hose Dept. of the "nitea States Rubber Co., appeared before the
Board and gave interesting and instr +active talks relative to fire
hose equipment.
Trustee Downey spoke regarding the pactice of moving
s"rnlus dirt taken from the streets under improvement and leaving
it in unsightly piles upon vacant property. He also called the at-
tention of the Board to the disreputable appearance of the tele-
phone poles recently installed by the Consolidated 7tilities Co.
Pay. A motion by Trustee Willard, seconded by ustee Menzel,
Bills.that the bill of the redwood YAnufacturing Co. for�8`7O.Z.36
covering balance daze on all water main installations for the
City, be alloyed and warrant ordered drawn on the General Fund
for same, was carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Merrill, Menzel. Willard, Downey and And-
erson.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.
New On motion b7 Trost.e^ low ey, so^onded by Trustee Willard,
Bus. it was decided that hereafter before action be taken by the Board
on any map of a tract to be subdivided that the same be referred
to the Planning Commission for recommendations.
On motion by Trustee Downey, seconded by Trustee dullard,
the Clerk was ordered to ask the Consolidated 7tilities Co., to
replace the two telephone roles recently installed on !.Vest Nulford
ave with others of a more presentable appearance,
On mction by T rustee Willard, seconded by Trustee Fenzel,
it was ordered that the condition of the recently constracted pav-
ing on Platt ave be brought to the attention of the City ?ngineer.
A motion by Trustee Downey, seconded by Trustee Willard.
that the `:'later ^upt be authorized to purchase all necessary equip-
ment for the repairing of water mains on streets where street work
is to be done, was carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Merrill, Menzel, Willard, Downey and And-
erson.
Noes: None,
Absent: None.
On motion by Trustee Villard, seconded by Trustee Downey,
the Clerk was. instructed to not the So. Cal. Gas Co., of the
contemplated work of improvement; on the streets where gas service
is not installed at the present, time.
Petitions from property owners on So. P each St., 'Vest Pern-
wood Ave Prom Peach St to the westerly boundary line of the City,
and Agnes St, were reed, and a. - - potion by Trustee ':'Tillard, seconded
by Trustee Menzel, that the same be referreJ to the Cite Engineer
with instructions to include Titters on the streets where none are
petitioned for, in drawing ?esolutions or Intention, was carried
by the following vote
Ayes: Trust Merrill, Menzel, "tlllard, Downey..
Noes: Anderson.
Absent: None.
