The Board of Trustees of the Citl of Lynwood met in regular session at the City Hall, 205 'Nest Mulford Ave, Wednesday, Nov. 21, 1923, at 7:30 p. m. Present: Trustees Willard, Downey, Anderson. Absent: Trustees '1errill, 1,1enzel. President Anderson in the Chair. Clerk pres ^nt. Minutes of the meeting of Nov. 14, 1923, were read and an- proved as read. Unfin Bus This being the time and place for the receiving of sealed bids or proposals for the Rork of improvement as contemplated by Re- solution of Intention No 143 the Clerk announced that bids were on file covering this work. On motion by Trustee "!illard, seconded by Trustee Downey, the Clerk was inst.r,cted to oc)en, examine and public- ly declare all such bids. "Vhereupon the Clerk opened, examined and publicly declared bids from the following persons: Phillins& , dic`,, ears, Geo H Oswald, Blumenkranz & Vernon, Hall- `ohnson Co. On motion made and seconded same were referred to City Engineer for recommendation. On motion made and seconded the Clerk was instructed to get an estimate of the amount tc be charged for legal services in connec- tion with the condemnation nroceedings by the City Attorney. On motion made and seconded the Building Inspector was auth- orized to allow temporary outside toilets whenever necessary in his estimation. On motion made and seconded the City Treasurer was author- ized to retire Street Imnrovement Bonds Nos 95, 99 and 100, Series P. amounting to 0 771.24. A motion by Trustee `Millard, seconded by Trustee Downey, that Geo G Gregory be employed to install 3 fire hydrants was carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees 'Millard. Downe -,t, Anderson. Noes: None. Absent: Trustees Merrill, i'tenzel. The bids for the work of improvement as contemplated under Resolution of Intention No 143 having been reiVurned to the Board by the City Fngineer with the statement that the bid of Hall. - Johnson was found to be the lowest and recommending that said firm be award- ed contract; a Resolution offered by Trustee ?Millard, entitled "A Resolution of award of contract for the ir!r- rovement of Peach Street, South Peach Street, Chester Street, Lynwood Place, Plaza Street, Grape Street., Apricot Street, Plum Street, near S +.reef_, Redwood Avenue and portions of Sanborn Avenue, Vulford Avenue, South Los Flores Boulevard, Modjesga Avenue, The South Roalway of 7ernwood _1vnn.ae and the Ncrt,h Road- way of Fernwood Avenue in the City of Lynwood, California." was read. Said Resolution being Resolution No 155, was, on motion made and sec- onded, adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Willard. Downey, Anderson. Noes: None. Absent: Trustees lVerrill. Menzel.
