Roll Call Present: Trustees ~~lerrill, ~?illard, Downey, Anderson. Absent : Trustee °~enzel. T'res~ldcnt t`.nderson in the Chair. Clerk present. "-"'" 'brit Com A Resolution of the D~oard of Supervisors of Los Angeles County regarding the bavment for the work cf improvement on Long Beach E31vd within the City but abbutted by unincorporated territory,was read and ordered filed. Gral Corn H ~' Zeiser register ed a complaint about the Hall-Johnson Co ob- structing sidewalks in the south part of the City. The Clerk was in- structed to write the Co regarding same. Dr Bell asked about the extent of authority given a sixth-class City over schools. Also spoke regarding certain sanitation conditions. The Clerk was instructed to get information from the City Atty covering same. TJnf Fus A protest petition signed by 68 prooPrty owners asking that no alley be constructed behind abutting dots on South Long Beach I31vd, was read. A motion by Trustee ??owney, seconded by Trustee P~~errill, that the same be recognized and all proceedings preliminary to the construction of said alley stopped, was carried by the following vote: Ages: Trustees r1~er'ill,~Iillard, Downey, Anderson. Noes: None. Absent : Trustee ~~enzel. A new Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance declaring the Intention of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood to order the opening, widening a_nd extending of certain streets and alleys in said City of Lynwood," was read for the second time. ~! ~~ motion by Trustee 'AJillard, s seconded by Trustee ,+Terrill, that the same be declared read for the ,~,., second time and laid over for final reading, was carried by the follow- ing vote: Ayes : Trustees ~~'errill, ''Dillard, Downey, Anderson. NOCS : NOT1C. Absent : Tr~astce ~~enzel. A new Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood, California, reg~zlatin~ the erection and main- tenance cf blinker lights upon and adiacent to p~iblic highways in the said City of Lvr?wood, and providing for the issuance of permits for the same and nrovidirg a penalty .for the violation of any of the provisions hereof." was read for the second time. On motion made and carried said Ordinance was declared read for the second time and laid over for final. reading. New Bua G G Gregory spoke on responsibility in connection with the recrnt damage to plant No 1. A motion was made and carried that, e.ll interested parties appear before~~ the Tigard T~Ia~°ch 5 and decide same. J C Reber explained restrictions, etc., on his Tract ad.~oining the City on the northeast and stated that it was his intention to ask annexation to Lynwood. Also asked that water be supplied said Tract. ~r Bullis of Lynwood Gardens sooke regarding annexation of that Tract into the City. A request from the ~'dison Co that the City discontinue certain lights on account of shortage of electricity was referred to the City nZarshal with authority to act, The p-T-A was granted permission to use City chairs r~larch 7.
