The Board of Trustees of the City of LynROOd met in re~,nilar
adiourned session at the Citu Hall 205 "test ".'hilford Ave, '"?ednesday,
April 9, 1924, at 7:30 n m.
Roll Ca1J_ Present: Tr~_isteAs Ivierrill, ~"Iillard, I~Ienzel, Do~rney, Anderson.
Absent: None.
President. Anderson in the Chair. Clerk present.
The minutes of the meeting of April 2 were read and approved
as read.
~Nrit Coms The resignation of the Citj* Planning Commission, consisting
of John P Barker, A N Gordy, Ray Crystal, B Osborne and Mrs Mabel
Souders was read and aeceptcd,
A petition asking that the ?~icense Ordinance No 21 be annul-
led, signed by 42 persons was read and laid over to new business.
A resolution from the Board of Realtors asking. that the Li-
cense Ordinance 'oe either enforced yin all cases or mo~ley refunded to
those who had paid, was read and 1_aid over to new business.
A petition demanding the enforcement of the License Ordinance
signed by 36 persons was read and laid over to new business.
A resolution of the Lynwood Board of Rea_lt,ors demanding that
the Building Ordinance relating to the erection of "Class B" buildings
be enforced was read and laid over to new business.
A protest petition against the proposed alley on the East side .
of Long Beach Blvd between Magnolia and Burton Aves was read and order-
ed filed,
Unf bus This being the time and place set for the hearing of protests
against the work of improvement or the district to be assessed to pay
said improvement under Resolution of Intention No 121 the Clerk an-
pounced that no protests were on file. A motion b~T Trustee Menzel, sec- .
onded by Trustee '"dillard, that the assessment ~.nd:•dstrict be confirm-
ed and that the Street Supt be authorized to sin warrant, was carried
by the f o 1lowin~ vote

A nei~r Ordinance entitled "An Oddinance of the Board of Trus- -
tees of the City of Lynwood, Cal. , re~~latin; traffic on certain streets
in the City of Lyn*,vood; and providing a penalty for the violation of
said Ordinance." was read for the second time ~.nd on motion made and
seconded was declared read for the second time and laid over for third
reading and final passage.

ed be~'ore the Board and asked .for a permit to operate in the City of
Lynwood. This zvas referred to the Cit~,* Pllarshal_ for recommendation.
Cn motion made anal seconded the petitions regarding; License
were taken up. ~~ motion bvas made and carried that the City ^;larshal
enforce Sect~.on X32 of Ordinance Ido 21_. ~`~ r?~PnPral discussion was had
by the Loard and various interested persons regarding ~-,iePnse Ordi-
nance No 21. A motion was made and carried that the Chair• appoint a
committee to draft a new Ordinance or amend the one existing. The
Chair appointed ;~,1r Ray Crystal vrith authority to ask the assistance
of a representative from all vocations.
On motion made and seconded the petition from the Realty
Board regarding the Pnforce?.~!ent of Ordi~tances I1os 19 and 26 was taken
up. After a discussion of this matter by various persons a ;notion by

Trustee Millard, seconded by Trustee P~Ilerrill, that the ~aild-
ing Inspector be ordered to revoke the permit and stop the erection
of a wooden :trueture by J C Reber on Lot 549, Tract X551, and to al-
low only a "Class B" bt.iilding ~n that location, was carried by the
following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Merrill, ~1~illard, Anderson.
Noes; Trustees i~:~enzel, Downey.
Absent: None,

A motion by Trustees Downey, seconded bq Trustee Merrill, that
the above. demands be allowed and warrants ordered drawn for same was
carried b~T the following vote

Noes: None
Absent: None.
