F<oard ~ro~aeede~l t,o c€~nvass the reszllt of the Special Annexation Elec-
ti on held in the terri_~,ory .mown as "~d:lition Tdo 1 to the City of
Ljrnwood;" Sat~~rday, April 26, ]_?24. After completin,~ the same the
result eras declared t.o be as follows : The ?,~rho7_e num'ner of votes cast
in the said S:~ecial Election Uras folznd to be Fift~,r-five (55). Of this
number it T,~ras found. that Tr?irt~T-six (36) votes were cast in favor of
annexinJ to the C?_ty of I:~~rnwood, Seventeen (17 } against and Two (2 )
rejected. '~`dhereupon an Ordinance entitled "tin Ordnance of the Board
of Trustees of the Cit~r of L~;rnwood, Ga].. , approvin the Annexation to

The ~soard having advertised for applications to fi]_t three
positions as traffic officers, tY~e C7_er?~ read. abplications for these
positions ~iy the follo~~rin r,^rsons : Nets S Anderson, "~7 F deed, Lock-
. wood Gail, ~: A Sharman, John }'~ Hou~~;htalin~; and Leslie ~1 Bau;her. A
motion by Trustee Reed, seconded bar Trustee Gordy, that the Board
fill tavo of these position4 r~7 ballot, uotin on dne position at a
time, was carried. 3els S Anderson having received 3 votes on the
first ballot and ,,q F Reed having; received ~~ votes on the second, were
declared the choice of the F:>oard.
A motion by Trustee Gordy, seconded by Trustee Downey, that
E rd; I'rkfitz be re-apnoiv~ted to the office of Citt.r rTarshal, and that
Nell S Anderson and ~" F Reed be a.p»ointed as police and traffic o.f_ -
ficers at. a salary o_f ah7_'75.00 per month, tre said officers to f~~r-
nish the ].r own mct.or-circles, egl~inment and *-r<aintenance, and fill
!these position from. 'day 1 1924 durinJ the pleas~Yre of the Poard, was
carried 'or the followin vote:
