Present: Trustees ')owney Gordy Reed Anderson Absent: Trustee Tweedy President Anderson in the Chair. Clerk present The minutes of the meetings of July 2 and 3 were read and _ approved as read. Savo. ••-, Oral Coma tAr !Hillard, representing the Long Beach~Impravement Assn, spoke on establishing a ~zniform set-back line, asking that 100 feet '' be the distance established netween b1isiness buildings on opposite sides of the Ro~~levard. The City Att,y was instructed to investigate and report on set-back Ordinances. T1nf Bus Abtion on the ab~>licatir_n for a permit to establish a ser- vice station at the corner of L B Rlvd and Carlin i~ve was deferred for one week. The Chair appointed Trustees ~)owney and Reed to investigate and report at that time. On motion made and carried the :hoard proceeded to canvass the result of the Special ~~hnexat3:on --~-.lection held in the territory known and designated as "Addition Pdo 5 to the City of Lynwood," on Sat- urday the 5th day of .Tu1y, 1924. After completing the same the result was declared to be as follows: The whole number of votes cast was Pound to be Sixty-Seven (6'7); the proposition voted on was whether the said territory should ~e annexed to the City of Lynwood. It was found and declared that Fort~•-<<-ight (4f3) votes were against said proposition, Eight+~en (18) wEBe in favor of same and One(1) was rejected. 'hereupon a Resolution offered by Tr~istee ')owney entitled "A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the Citv of Lynwood -ieclaring the result of the Special ynnexation Election held in the territory designated as 'Addi- tion No 5 to the Citv of Lynwood,"' was read. Said Resolution, being Resolution No 195 of the Citv of Lynwood, was on motion made and secon- ded adopted by the Following vote: •..~ Ayes : Trustees ?)owney Gordy Reed An~.erson Noes : None ' Absent; Trustee Tweedy Notice having; been received from the office of the Secretary of State that'6rdin~nce~No 36 of the City of Lynwood, approving the an- nexation to the said City of L~mwood of "Addition Ido 2," had been filed Jl.~ly 8, 1924, a Resolution entitled "~i Resolution of the Board of Trua- tees of the Cit~r of Lynwood regarding Annexation of 'Addition No 2," was read, and on motion made and seconded., said Resolution being Resolution No 196 of the City off' Lynwood, was adopte~~ by the following vote Ayes: Trustees Downey Gordy Reed Anderson tdoes : None Absent : Trustee Tweedy Notice having been received from the office of the Secretary of State that Ordinance No 37 of the City of Lynwood, approving the an- nexation to the said City of L~~nwood of "Addition No 3," had been filed July 8, 1924, a Resolution entitled "A ;.esolution of the Hoard of Tru ~- tees of the City of Lynwood regarding Annexation of. 'Addition No 3,'" was read, and on motion made and second+3d, said Resolution being Reso- lution Ido 197 of the CitT~ of Lynwood, was adopted by the following vote: Ayes : Trustees ')owney Gordy reed Anderson Noes: None Absent: Trustee Tweedy This being the time and place set for the hearing of protests or objections against the improvement, or the extent of the district to .-. be assessed to pay the costs of said improvements, or both, under Reso- lution of Intention No 192, the Clerk announced that no protests were on file; whereupon the President inquired if any persons present desired to be heard, and no objections having been presented, a Resolution of- fered by Trustee Gordy, entitled "A Resolution of the ~~oard of Trustees " of the City of Lynwood ordering the improvement of_ San Jose Avenue, Capi- strano Avenue, .=Barlow Avenue and Norton Avenue in the Cites of Lynwood, California," was read, Said Resolution being Resolution No 198 of the City of Lynwood was, on motion made and seconded, adopted by the fol- lowing vote: Ayes : `1'r1.:stees Downey Gordy Reed Anderson Noes: None Absent: Trustee Tweedy 255 New Bus The Nater Supt spoke on the water supply sitt.zation, stating that he had interviewed representatives of the Edison Co and that they had advised i~im that the hours for using water for irrigation purposes might be changed to from 4pm to 7pm. A motion by Trustee Downey, seconded by ']'rustee Gordy, that the hours for using water for irrigation purposes be changed from 4am to lam to 4pm to 7pm, and that the 'dater Supt be authorized to have hand bills printed notifying water users of said Chang®, was carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Downey Gordy Reed Anderson Noes: None l~bsent : Tr?zstee Tweedy Mater Commissioner Gordy seported on the contemplated water main change in the northwest part of the City, recommend- ing that Mrs Johnson, the owner of the present system, be paid X200 for her system. A motion by Trustee Reed, seconded bTT Trus- tee Downey, that the ''later Commissioner be authorized to purchase sama at a cost not in excess of X200, was carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Downey Gordy Reed Anderson Noes: None Absent : Tr~.zstee Tweedy The following demands were a~.zdited: General Fund: No 827 H E Rowley St Imp Fund No 46 .T P Barker License Refund St 'Mork by Boy Scouts 1~Iisc supplies ~`~40.00 22.85 25.18 tNater Fund No 445 Crane Co A motion by Trizstee Gordy, seconded by Trustee Downey, that the above demands be allowed and sarrants ordered drawn for same, was carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Downey Gordy Deed Anderson Noes : Tdone Absent : Trizstee Tweedy On motion Board aiiourne•i to meet `r~ednesday, July 16, 1924, at the us?zal time and place.
