Meeting of Board Oct 29 1x24
The Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood met in ~d journed
regular session at the City Hall 205 ~~est Mulford Ave Wednesday Oct
29 1924 at 7:30 pm
Present: Trustees Tweedy Reed Anderson
Absent: Trustees Downey Gordy. Pres Anderson in Chair.Clk press

Unf bus A recom~~endation from the Lighting Committee recommending-.that
250 candle power lights be installed at all inter~ectiona throughout
the .City, and (here no intersections existed that lights be spaced ap-
proximately 300 feet apart, was read and referred to the City Engineer
and City Attorney.
i'he'City Engineer presented a diagram showing the-district to
be assessed to pay the costs and expenses of the work of improvement
in the district known as Fran-clin Street and others under Resolution
of Intention No 202. On motion made and seconded said diagram was ap-
proved.
The City Engineer presented a diagram showing the district to
be assessed to pay the coats and expenses of the work of improvement
in the district known as Anderson & Osgood Streets under Resolution
of Intention No 217. On motion made and seconded said diagram was ap-
proved.
A lease agreement covering a portion of the Southern Pacific
right-of-way at the intersection of Fernwood Ave and Alameda Street
was offered by the Southern Pacific RR Co. This was referred to the
City Attorney and Street Commissioner.
This being the time and place set for the hearing of protests
on certain public improvements to be made or the district to be as-
sessed to pay the costs and expenses of .said improvements. the Clerk
stated that there were two properly executed protest petitions on file,
and. read same. One in regard to the establishing of an alley along the
easterly boundary line of the City from Beechwood Ave to the northerly
.-- line of the first alley east of Copeland St, and one Qrote~ttn~`the
establishment of an alley in the rear of property abutting on Long Beac
Blvd from Beechwood Ave to the northerly boundary line of the City. The
President then asked if any persons present desired to be heard. The
following persons protested: Mr Bober, Atty Scharnikow representing Mr
Bober and Mr Moore, Mr Tischer, Mr Swai~tsfager. Those speaking in favor
were: Mr Willard, Mr Wood. Mr Althouse, representing the City Engineer
explained the need of certain alleys for drainage purposes. On motion
made and carried the hearing on this matter was continued Por one week

A motion by Trustee Tweedy seconded by Trustee Reed that the
Clerk be authorized to have the new water plant equipment insured in
the sum of X2500 was carried by the following vote:

The Annexation Election called by Resolution No 226 having bee3
found to have been called erroneously a Resolution entitled c'A Resolu-

Lion of the .Board 'of Trustees of the City of Lynr-ood abandoning and see
tang aside Resolution No 226," was read. On motion .made and. seconded
said Resolution being Resolution No 230 of the City of Lynwood was
adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Tweedy Reed Anderson
Noes: None
Absent: Downey Gordy
The following persons demanded that the recent police investi-
gation be re-opened and that witnesses be allowed to testify: Mr Pat-
terson, Mr Watkins, Mr Roberts and Mr C C Reed.
On motion Board adjourned. /~
